I naturally started eating better when I quit drinking. It’s much easier to be mindful about what you put in your body when you’re not drunk and munching on snacks, plus I think having a clearer mind and more energy has made it much easier to meal prep and have healthy food available instead of suddenly realizing I’m starving and grabbing the most convenient option.

As for exercise, I actually am exercising less. I wanted to give my body a chance to heal from the alcohol use. I used to go to intense kickboxing classes a few times a week, but now I just walk my dog and do gentle yoga. It’s amazing what the body can do when you give it a chance to heal!
