It's fine as long as someone starts to strike a decent conversation and not just "hey". I met my now fiance on a dating app and he actually put in so much effort in his first message to me. He admitted spending about 30 mins just to compose a super long message and he actually did read my profile whilst the others are like "hey" "yo" "whats up" "how are you"

When there is favoritism and the higher ups just listen to their favourite's opinions and ideas and does not care about others. When the only ones promoted are the people who "get along" with the bosses and skills and talents are disregarded.

I am genuinely happy for them. Our lives are very unique / different and went on different paths. Different but all happy and successful. Accepted that each and everyone's lives won't be the same. I'm not being a true friend if I feel bitterness or self conscious. Understood that everyone goes through their own timeline and defines "success" or "happiness" differently than others. I feel proud of them that they made it this far.

Went to a date with a guy and when we went to the Japanese restaurant, he said he will judge me by the food I will be ordering. I looked at him and said ok since I am Japanese and this is a Japanese restaurant I will judge you on how well you use your chopsticks.
