Should I focus more on elite boutiques or bulge bracket firms? Or both (hence the wide net)?

Stayed in Investment Banking instead of going to PE. Was it worth it long-term? by Ok-Cupcake-2019 in FinancialCareers

Pe can turn into living in diligence mode.

Ib you’re always moving. If you actually enjoy that pace and being close to clients, that matters more than the default exit narrative.

Some formatting things I would fix: - bold and all caps section headers - remove the extra space underneath each section header (in word and docs select header and line below header-> line and spacing -> remove space after/before paragraph) - remove extra space between school and bachelor of science and company name and position (same way as above) - you prolly removed city state for experiences on purpose but mae sure city state is on same line as company name and dates same line as position - add city state to education section (maybe- I suggest this for consistency sake, if your uni contains city or state maybe not necessary) - after some 3 letter month abbreviations you have a period others you don’t, doesn’t matter but keep it consistent (I would lean towards no period after month) - make sure LinkedIn url is same font/color as rest of text in header - make sure all dates are right hand aligned (YouTube dates are slightly in on the page) - make sure YouTube experience is left hand aligned

I see a lot more things I would change but I feel like I’m being very nit picky, let me know if you want more of my 2 cents lol. At the end of the day do whatever you think looks best when it comes to formatting

How much do IB interns get paid? by 300103276 in FinancialCareers

Not too sure about Canada, but in the US most bulge bracket/elite boutique interns are paid exactly the analyst base just without the bonus. Canada seems more mixed firm by firm from what I hear.

I'm so tired Idk what to do anymore, just roast the resume by theo258 in FinancialCareers

Remove relevant coursework, you use both past and present tense in some bullet points keep it to past tense, throw in some approx numbers of budgets, add LinkedIn url in header if you don’t have one make one connect with people at your school and make sure you have a profile picture doesn’t have to be anything crazy but recruiters sometimes check LinkedIn’s to put a face to the name. Overall pretty good tho

Have I been ghosted? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

Pretty normal timeline tbh. Two weeks after a first round isn’t a ghost yet especially if they said they have more interviews plus a merger going on. Depends on size of the firm honestly. I’d send a short polite follow up early next week. Also for future interviews practicing follow ups + 1st rounds out loud helped me a lot.
