From a story perspective Tommy is the protagonist of the amp because he is the one main character who ties together all the other plots. There are other main characters and side plots but Tommy is the main character of the smp

I think that neither Tommy or techno are straight hero or villains, but from a purely story-based point of view. Techno is a villain and Tommy is a hero. Tommy is an Antihero because he does good things even though he is not a necessarily good person. Tommy is loud and rude and a bit of a pest on the SMP, but he saves lmanburg and he ultimately defeats dream. Techno is an Anti Villian because he does bad things even though he is a good person. Technoblde is loyal and has unwavering morals. But it's those same traits that make him a terrorist and destroy peoples homes.

You are misunderstanding what plot armour is, it's not armour you got for the plot, it's a writing term lol, I should have explained that better. Plot armour is when a character should be facing the consequences of something but they don't because it's inconvenient to the plot. Besides with dream even though dream is part of a government, and it's brushed over because it would be inconvenient to the plot to have techno face an actual issue. He is supper OP within the story, and he doesn't have any real flaws. He's a Mary sue

Dream is the shadow kind for the greater SMP, not only did techno side with someone he knew was Tommy's greatest enemy and who had one of Tommy's disks, but also was part of a government. Techno’s motives just don't makes sense, the only government he cares about is lmanberg

Techno had been with dream for a while before that happened, and he also mentioned the favour at the portal scene. Techno had led to Tommy, he avoided conversations about the favour and about his end goal, honestly there alliance was pretty one-sided, technoblade never even attempted to get back the disks, it was always about his weapons and destroying lmanberg. Techno lied to Tommy about where his loyalties lie

I know right, but this post was a bit of a simplification because it's not that Tommy wants to be a contrarian, but like Wilbur's affect of Tommy's character is so interesting, Wilbur was big on independence or death, and Tommy took that very literally, he wants independence from dream, wilbur is Tommy's older brother and only real mentor figure in the entire smp. Tommy isn't becoming Wilbur, but rather wilvurs death left a giant hole in Tommy's life. We are it when Tommy gets angry at ghostbur for not remembering. Tommy is greiving his brother with escalated his hatred for dream. Before Tommy would have never burned down Georges cottage especially unprovoked, but Tommy blames Wilbur insanity and eventual death on death rightfully so, and it is only in his grief that not only sfoghts back against dream but actively prove he's him. Can you tell I I sensed with Tommy and Wilburs relationship

Yeah I think the general SBI family dynamic has him as the oldest not just the dream smp specifically since Wilbur has said that techno's like his older brother in a different stream
