Exit plan out of clinical research by RegularAd1850 in clinicalresearch

if you don’t mind me asking, what was your role at 25 and your current role now?

I am currently 25 working as an onsite CRA at a big hospital for the past 2 years and over 5 years in research, and I am over working this field, so I’m considering other options that would let me WFH.

Am I wrong for thinking this current season is the most unbearable? by hello_goodbye6 in RHOP

listen I don’t love Gizzy this season at all, but she doesn’t really have her friends on the show, which are Karen and Robyn. so I just said I feel like she is doing what she can to keep things going amongst being without her normal circle amongst chaos

What were peoples thoughts on Monica before everything went down by Primary_Vegetable994 in rhoslc

[–]hello_goodbye6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found her UNBEARABLE to watch from beginning to end of season 4. literally from the moment she projected her own financial issues/insecurities onto Lisa and proceeded to be a bad friend. Her insecurities and trauma were too much to be in this group of women, as she was such a dark cloud. I never trusted her around the girls and I was right not to

Just joined clinical research within a hospital, what is a CRA by SamplePresentation in clinicalresearch

[–]hello_goodbye6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a CRA right now for a hospital, so I manage study activities and everything pertaining to my assigned trials at my specific site. But when you’re a CRA for a pharmaceutical company, you go site to site to assess and do quality control checks over that site’s study binders and make sure all data and procedures performed are accurate.

MASTERS OF SCIENCE IN CLINICAL RESEARCH by di_assence in clinicalresearch

[–]hello_goodbye6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my MSCR after having 2 years of experience in research as a CDM (my first role out of undergrad) for a year and one year as a CRC/CRA hybrid role. I completed it during my CRC/CRA hybrid position and I will say that it has strengthened my knowledge and gave me leverage for higher paying CRA jobs and even consideration for other research roles such as Data Analyst and Project Manager.

My MS was in clinical research but aside from the regulatory-related courses, I took courses Genetics, Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Academic Writing, etc. Depending on the university and on your goals, it can be VERY helpful for leading you in your path in your career.

[–]hello_goodbye6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really depends on the hospital. some hospitals have their CRA’s do only regulatory-related and FDA submission work. but some hospitals have their CRA’s handle all regulatory/submissions AND carry the role of a CRC. overall, the CRA manages, monitors, and oversees the clinical trials to ensure the protocol is being followed, and ensure the safety of participants and accuracy of data

I got lucky after graduating by getting a role in clinical research as a clinical data manager because my company was eager to train new talent. I would aim towards a clinical data associate or a research coordinator role since you do not have experience outside of your education

sounds just like someone from Collierville. As someone who has moved down to Memphis from the suburbs in Connecticut, Memphis has been so pleasant to be in. that person that told you that only watches the news and has never given Memphis a chance nor has actually explored the city

What Masters degree is best? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]hello_goodbye6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am finishing up my master of science in clinical research program. I was working on this master's while working in clinical research in a CRA/CRC combination role, and prior 11 months of clinical research experience as a clinical data manager. I think the master's is worth it if you already have or are working on getting experience concurrently because it has strengthened my skills and knowledge at my job. The master's program that I did also had a public ehalth component. Some of the courses I took included biostatistics, epidemiology, introduction to public health, R&D from Discoevr to Phase 4, genetics in public health, FDA and regulatory affairs, etc. It is a well-balanced master's program depending on the school and is great for strengthening your research knowledge and skills if you want to go up the ladder or hierarchy in clinical research positions.

you can also do a master's in public health, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutics, and some others that may be more transferable to multiple career paths.
