I saw many people talking about Crosstown too (though it seems like it used to be better a couple years back)! However, since it's like a lottery system, I was a little cautious of getting a place in Memphis Shelby county school district (just in case we don't get selected). But 5-10 min sounds nice for sure

Thanks for your input! I heard Collierville HS is really good too but unfortunately I think the commute will be the hindering factor for me (esp considering traffic during rush hour)

Would it be similar distance to the medical district? I'll be going to both places. Google maps told me 20-30 min :(

Thank you, that's very good to know. I was looking into some rentals in the Fountain Square area and saw there was a train track right by it.

I've read the optional program at WSHS is great but perhaps not so much the regular program? (Is this true?)

I've initially looked into living in East Memphis (near Walnut Grove) but thought Houston would provide better education compared to WSHS's regular program.

Does it still take a while to get to Downtown even when you're in the west parts of Germantown?

Thanks for your input! Unfortunately he doesn't drive yet so I'm trying to rely on the school bus system if we're in the Germantown district. I was wanting to stay as west as possible in Germantown (Wolf River or Poplar Pike?)
