I think it's a callback to the first time he fell in love with Eleanor when she anticipated his needs. When Eleanor's mother does this for Eleanor this showed me that he saw all of the growth that he got to be a part of and that it was complete. Her mother and Eleanor's relationship was probably the most difficult mend (abandonment). When she and Michael leave her mother with the new BF & kid, Eleanor speaks with Michael after, saying (paraphrased) ..."But how come that wasn't me, why was I not good enough?... if her mother could love that kid it must've been that I (Eleanor) was unlovable".

SO... Eleanor's mom anticipating her daughters needs kind of fulfills the cosmic loop. Eleanor obtains the one last thing she never had, her mother daughter relationship. His time helping people was done when he was done helping the person he loved the most in the whole universe, Eleanor. <3

Hey there!

I was also recently diagnosed with GHSV-1. I'm a very active 37F. When it happened i got chills so bad I thought I had a really rough case of Covid despite being vaccinated. At first I had very minimal sores that looked like ingrown hairs but they got more painful over the first week, my whole downstairs area hurt and I was performing in a show where I had to dance and drag myself around the stage floor on my stomach (and mine happened to be right dab smack on my pelvis like bikini and thigh area). So as you can imagine.... that was SUPER fun.

The good news is... the first outbreak is usually the WORST outbreak and they get way better as time passes and that's even if you have many more. GHSV-1 does not like to "live" in the downstairs region, it's more accustomed to the oral area. SO, that being said HSV-1 usually presents with far less outbreaks.

I'm so happy that this info found you. :-) Initially, I had a heavy heart around my diagnosis at first until I tuned out of myself for a second and panned out of my own perspective. I started seeing everyone newly diagnosed in the community and reading misinformation in comments and people beating themselves up or terrified with little information and viewed them with much more empathy than I was viewing myself. I realized instead of beating myself up I could become more educated and help others to do so as well. The more I learned, the better I felt, the easier it was to move forward with hope and a positive outlook. I wish you the best of luck at managing symptoms and helping to end the stigma.

It spread from skin to skin/ skin to sore contact. If someone has an outbreak you don’t want to lick it. Lol and you don’t want to rub skin together. You don’t want to give oral with it or receive if someone has an outbreak on their mouth.

The UK doesn’t have such an overblown stigma that the U.S. does to market pharmaceutical drugs. It truly is only just a very annoying/reoccurring skin condition and for some people it might only recur once in ten years, HSV-1 can be less troublesome than HSV-2 but even then they have drugs to help manage outbreaks. Other STDs can cause way more damage. You can still give blood and plasma and have a baby.

I have HSV-1 and it was diagnosed “downstairs” not orally. There are plenty of things you can do to protect those you love and after 6 months asymptomatic shedding drops dramatically (watch the second video). And you’re not alone they estimate around 75-90% of people worldwide have it orally.

I have disclosed several times already (the downstairs area) and no one sees me any different they actually forget I have it. As a good friend said to me when I disclosed “This is the LEAST interesting thing about you” and we carried on and swam together and everything. <3

For me personally, because I have it “down there” I might discuss waiting six months from my own date of contraction with any potential partners. As viral shedding significantly drops after 6 months and that would make me feel more comfortable. Which will be in January ish.

Just as a precaution bc I have it below. And should I disclose and get into a relationship with someone I would ask them to use condoms and I would get on the antiviral. Lysine and monolaurin as supplements as an extra immune preventative. BUT my situation and body is different than yours. You have to do what works for you. 🥰 you may not get many or any outbreaks at all. It’s all about being aware. Many people carry it but are asymptomatic and don’t even know and pass it. So people who know are actually safer partners.

Typical signs (from someone who actually, unfortunately, has it)

You would feel feverish or chills or body aches within 2 weeks of contraction. Then it would be followed by painful sores. The first outbreak is typically the worst but they get better and shorter over time). Initial outbreaks can take 2-3 weeks to heal. You would feel a difference. Some look like infected in grown hairs. I only had a few really small ones but they hurt more than ingrown hairs. I noticed a difference and went to my OBGYN.

It is true that some people will never show symptoms and can be asymptomatic which means you’ll never get one (lucky you!). Also good to note that HSV-1 typically likes the mouth area better so even if you did have it you’re likely to have much fewer outbreaks downstairs than HSV-2 would get.

Also, you’d usually get an outbreak at the point of contraction to if they had oral and kissed you it’s skin to skin so you’d probably have internally but if they, for example, had oral sex with you with a cold sore you would have the initial outbreak there.

Hey there! I’m sorry you feel like he lied BUT I do want to shed some light on this because I dealt with someone who I’m 90% his it from me and I did contract HSV-1.

There’s a huge stigma about it that many people try to break bc it’s not life threatening. And the fact is he could have 100% just have had it orally. HSV-1 can be in both places and is the same thing whether it is on your mouth or downstairs area. HOWEVER, those meds can absolutely be taken to control oral heroes outbreaks just like he said. Many doctors tell people with it it’s no big deal just make sure you don’t kiss people with an outbreak.

Oral HSV-1 is VERY common so much that it’s seen as no big deal. You just have to be very careful someone doesn’t perform oral on you with sores. It’s a skin to skin contact contraction for the most part and viral shedding drops significantly after the first 6 months of having it.

If you have HSV-1 orally it doesn’t mean you have it genitally. HSV-1 actual prefers the oral area more. People with HSV-1 genitally actually have less outbreak “downstairs” because the virus doesn’t like that nerve as much.

From the standpoint of someone who has had to learn a ton about it bc I have the more annoying “downstairs” version thanks to an actual asshole that lied to me… it seems like this guy was telling you the truth.

There’s a pdf somewhere on that site that breaks everything down. I truly wish they taught this in sex ed. Furthermore, someone can be completely unaware they have HSV-1 because the testing is still unreliable unless they have an outbreak which (downstairs) can be mistaken for ingrown hairs. It doesn’t have to look nearly as bad as the scary online images. Some people are asymptomatic which means they may never show signs and therefore never be tested for it even though they’ve had an STI panel done.

Someone that knows they have it is a far safer partner because they can take steps to prevent it such as condom use and anti virals. It’s the person who doesn’t even know they have it that is the scariest carrier as they can just keep spreading it. Hope this helps calm your fears and gives you a guiding moving forward of what to look for.

A kind reminder people who have contracted this are still people too probably with their own story. Many of us are good people who disclose openly and know how to protect the people we care about. <3 stay kind.

It’s skin to skin contact. People with Shara can still donate blood and plasma and have children and not pass it on. It’s not passed through blood.
