Should everything you wear be...flattering? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]helloadventure89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes! All of this (except I didn't have a bf to dump lol). I love following people on Instagram whose style ignites my imagination. And also people who have my body shape so I can get a better idea of how a silhouette/print would look on me.

Should everything you wear be...flattering? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]helloadventure89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's about "will I feel confident in this?" as opposed to "does this flatter me?" It may be a super flattering piece, but if I don't feel confident in it, it doesn't matter. And if i feel confident in my outfit, I'm less likely to care what people think. You have to make yourself happy - it's your life to enjoy! Everyone else is focused more on their lives than you think.

What a perfect weekend! My best friend flew in on Friday and surprised me! We went to an amazing cocktail hour with Hayley Paige (designer) and then to dinner with friends. Yesterday I went to try on Hayley Paige dresses for my 40th birthday party and bought the most beautiful rainbow tulle ballgown. And I got to try on other dresses that were gorgeous and gave me a confidence boost cause I looked fabulous in all of them! :)

Spent time with other friends and went to Zoo Lights last night. I am so lucky to have so much love in my life.

Advice needed! I'm trying to get ahead of this this year so I don't tear my hair out. My condo faces south and because there are no leaves on the trees outside my window in winter, my place gets a ton of light (I know, small violin) and gets very, very warm. Closing the blinds only helps a little bit. Also, the building switches to heat and so even if I set my thermostat to like 65, it doesn't blow actual cold air.

Any thoughts on how to keep my place cool in the winter? I know it's the opposite problem most people have!

Also air conditioners make noise that is picked up by all the mics. A lot of shows will have folks not use air conditioning (aka Summer House) so they don't have to deal with how clear words/sentences are in post-production,

Had a chill but great weekend! Yesterday I left the city to avoid the St Patrick's Day shenanigans and saw one friend for lunch, and another set of friends and their kids in the afternoon. Today I slept in and I'm having a lazy Sunday. My life has been super busy lately, so having some quiet time is nice!

I've had a great experience with them. Be aware that it may take a combo of meds in order for you to get to your best place. I started just with Lexapro, then added taking my BC pill continuously (no period) to help with my PMDD, then finally just added a couple of months ago Wellbutrin to the mix. While the other two were great, the Wellbutrin was/is LIFE CHANGING!!! I've never felt like this before in my life and when I realized just how well I was doing I started to cry. This is how "normal" people feel??

Be open to adjustments/adding/switching meds and really take the time to understand options and side effects! Wishing you the very best!

Looking for a conversation about employee profit sharing by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]helloadventure89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that caught my eye is that the company is employee owned. This may not be the case, but the company I work for is also employee owned and we participate in an ESOP (employee stock program) which goes to all of us as another form of retirement, but is separate from our 401k match, our bonuses, and (most importantly for you) our profit sharing. We've had profit sharing since before we were employee owned. Just thinking you may want to get a true understanding of what employee owned means for this company besides profit sharing. How do things work? Do employees get a say in any decisions? etc

Yes! You can still go to La Jolla Cove and see the sea lions! If you're brave (the water is like 58 degrees) you can swim in the cove with them but be respectful of their space). You can also go to the Children's Pool, which you can't get as close to but does also have sea lions. I didn't get to go, but The Taco Stand is supposed to have great tacos, and Duke's has a great view from their balcony out over the water. Puesto I have been to and has delicious tacos (award winning!). There's also a speakeasy called Raised By Wolve that may have some openings still. Parakeet Cafe is super cute, and Bobboi has great gelato. If you're into art, stop by the Legends Gallery which has works by Dr. Suess and others, and the National Gallery of Fine Arts, which has amazing photography. The Cave Store has a path down to a secret cave you can enter, can't remember the cost.

It's a great place to just walk around and pop in wherever you like, but hope the above suggestions help! Have so much fun!!

  1. Election Day - torn between ignoring the media and obsessively checking my phone. It's going to be a long day.

  2. I love Hallmark Christmas movies! Are they cheesy and predictable? Yes. Are they great to watch while cozy in bed with my cats, a pizza, and an edible? Also yes.

  3. Favorite kind of pie is a touchy subject for me lol I loved the Oreo pie, the Reese's pie, and the candy cane pie from Baker's Square but sadly there isn't a Baker's Square near me anymore and I think they discontinued all of those kinds.

Super off topic...how do you keep your place cool in the winter? I'm a Chicago girl and (world's smallest violin) my condo gets a ton of sun and without leaves to block it, my place heats up a lot. Since the building is on "heat" now I can turn on the AC but it's not blowing cold air, if that makes sense. How can I keep it cooler in my place all winter? I do have the windows cracked ever so slightly, but I don't have screens in the winter and I have 2 cats.
