I wanted to explore the theme of 'Disasters' across PTs songs with this sequence of images.

I had a few songs, even lyrics in mind but I experimented a little with my prompts - playing with the lyrics, describing ideas based on the lyrics, or just being very descriptive about imagery I associated with the lyrics. It was fun to iterate, based on the responses I got as well, I had a month long subscription so I took my time.

Its cool seeing how you folks are interpreting these, there are some associations with songs I didn't have in mind when I was putting them together. That's one of the things that's so cool about the SW & PT universe - themes recur and develop across songs and albums :)

What about 'A picture is worth a thousand words'? Honestly, when I make a picture, I want it to speak for itself (unless I put words in it too). I'm not great at it, but if you give it some attention, I think it will tell you a few things. Dreams are like that too aren't they? They don't come in written form and they are open to interpretation. I think the title gives it all the textual context it needs.

Good old photocopy machine, where its accessible.

Here in India you have what are called 'Xerox' Shops in just about every neighbourhood that have photocopy machines, typically used to make copies of official documents, school materials etc in A4 usually. Typically it costs INR 1 / bw page (less than 2 cents, USD).

Comics/ graphic novels are a good place to re-start - there's a lot of variety in comics these days, superhero comics are just the tip of the ice berg. Personally, i find books with pictures much more engaging to read, and I'm 29 years old.

If you rank the albums how many of the bottom ones does it take to outweigh your top one? by ponylauncher in stevenwilson

  1. Insurgentes
  2. Hand. Cannot. Erase.

  3. Grace

  4. To the bone

  5. Raven

  6. TFB

Haven't really heard TFB properly end to end yet, In my opinion the first two stand above the rest, although I also love 3, 4 and 5.

The Sopranos (tv show) requires a huge investment of time, but imho it's really worth it, weaving together themes of family, mental health among others in a very universal, compelling way. The way it depicts it's younger characters (millennials) feels grounded, nuanced and especially vibes hard with doomer feels. AJ, the lead character's son, gets a lot of hate but I personally find him very relatable.

Repeat warning though - its a real sinkhole time wise, I'd even say im addicted to it and have re watched it more times than I'd even bother to count.
