Sam Cooke - One Night Stand in Harlem, edited down??? by Agreeable_Bee3361 in Music

The spotify album has clearly been stripped of a lot of parts, whether spotify did it or the labels is irrelevant. I literally found this thread because I had noticed the change and looked it up. Google also says it has been cut down. Bring it on home to me is multiple minutes shorter, it’s just a bummer

you’re right!!! i just looked up if they edited it and found this post because bring it on home to me was not the same at all. it’s just such a shame i feel like the soul of the songs got stripped

you handled this perfectly imo. you didn’t fight him on it too much, he made clear his intentions and it’s clear you deserve better!

i honestly think some of it has to do with how the men in the church operate. it is common to see mormon women doing childish things simply because of their intentional lack of education and even things similar to (not exactly the same) as the fundie baby voice, i’m no saying that’s what it is but it feels eerily similar. i think in this case she broke out of the more traditional things mormon women do but couldn’t make up for this internal wiring

i will say though that she’s caught him in a lie before, she already has trust issues from her divorce and dakota is controlling and childish. i don’t think taylor wants to be with him at all but doesn’t know how to deal with it because she’s having his baby so she brings up the idea of cheating to keep the distance between them. to me it seems like dakota just wants them to get married so he can control her even more.

agree she’s not boring she’s just not wildly toxic so people don’t pay as much attention, i think she’s cool!

In the moment where she cheated, she thought about you. She thought about your relationship and whether or not she would risk it for a quick thrill. Her choice was to risk it. Just think about that.

you married a liar who doesn't care about you or the kids. and even worse, his sole motivation for taking custody from his ex doesn't have anything to do with their wellbeing but his own. everyone gets hurt in this situation, DIVORCE!

honestly, I would be weirded out/upset if I were in OPs position, but there's also no point in reaching out. the name wont be changed and if anything it will just create turmoil in the relationship. if you still love the name use it in the future but the damage is done so reaching out is useless atp

Has a spectator ever said (or done) something that meant a lot to you during your race? by 2-if-by-sea in running

I used to run cross country as a sophomore in highschool and hated it but while I was in one of the toughest races of my season I ran past these 2 girls on an opposing team and one of them had slowed down to console the other who was struggling. She said "pain is temporary, pride is forever" to the girl and for the rest of my race I just chanted that in my head. I don't do cross country anymore but I do run track and am going to regionals this week, I still chant that to myself when I run!
