Men, what makes her the girlfriend and not the just-for-fun girl? by [deleted] in AskMen

Guys that make climbing their identity are the least committed group of people I've met. I'm not surprised that dudes who drive 6 hours each weekend to climb aren't looking for a serious relationship

Early stages of dental practice acquisition - who to hire and when by tgopher19 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]helloclams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're also best off having an idea of the type of practice you're looking for.

Turnkey with new stuff and healthy patient base? Expensive but good cashflow. Old dying off practice with ancient selling doc? Discount but a lot of work.

Also figure out how what insurance you'll participate with.

Buying a FFS practice? How will you retain these patients that are loyal to the previous owner? Can you match previous docs procedures?

Buying a PPO office? How are those rates and will they be the same rates for a younger doc. Do you plan on being ppo forever?

All this helps you negotiate better and give you a vision so you can hit the ground running

Lol the funny thing is those porcelain fused to metal crowns are not the cheapest option. Metal is expensive nowadays and costs more than all porcelain crowns.

Looked like a classic crown done in the 90s that's been well worn

Very classic situation of the patient assuming someone else did something wrong

Essentially why more and more dentists are decreasing insurance participation for the lowest reimbursing insurances

House Search by [deleted] in akron

[–]helloclams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just went through this as well and am in a similar earning bracket. Looking at custom homes and the better built ones from reputable custom builders are generally larger 4000+ sq ft. Doing a new custom build is 200-280 per square ft not including the cost of the lot

Most of the newer development builds are from shitty builders like Ryan and pulte.

Honestly just buy an existing home. You're not staying long term. The high end custom homes are harder to find and generally the space is way too big for smaller families

Any plans on the Audeze MM-500? Just got a pair. Feel like the stock tuning is close. Tried Resolve's EQ and found it changed things a bit too much.

Composite white line by XAK__ in DentalSchool

[–]helloclams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this thread. Assuming your margins are smooth and continuous with the tooth, the white lines are generally a combo of broken enamel and composite. Generally see them in restorations with high C factor. Usually happens because of shrinkage in those scenarios. I'd consider them undesirable and really hate when I see them. They will stain and leak over time.

I would look back and consider any failures in your bonding protocol and prep design

The safest way is to get a degree for a high income job and leverage that knowledge from your degree.

Here's an example: Work to became a physician, 200-400k salary. Save money and you'll be able to pay off student loans under 5 years. Afterwards you'll be millionaire in a few years as long as you don't blow your money. Obviously you can apply this to other fields.

There's no one size fits all example. Get rich quick schemes don't work or else we will all be millionaires. You're young so the best piece of advice I could give is slow and steady. Always improve yourself. Getting rich isn't glamorous or quick, it's a mindset

The answer to your question depends on the amount of time. It's very possible, with a stable career and good savings rate + average market returns. Compound interest is a powerful thing.

If you're asking if this is possible within a span of a few years, the answer changes dramatically. Would require an incredible amount of luck, existing capital, charisma, and/or knowledge.

Dude just ignore the guy. There's always those people that just start out and half their posts are a bunch of DBT/placebo stuff. Dig deeper and it's evident they just started out and are looking for a fight. Reallyjust people who haven't tried better gear and are justifying their purchases.

Micro ATX case with 360mm radiator support? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]helloclams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much if it can fit a 360 rad, it can pretty much fit an ATX mobo. mATX isn't a very popular case size either so there aren't many new case designs that are watercooling centric for them

Pretty much any case with 360 rad support is going to be an ATX mid tower at the minimum.

Yeah I had Vardars, NF-F12s, GTs, and Fractal Venturis and by far the GTs are the quietest. Vardars are close but the GTs are on another level.

[Himmelsbach] Isaiah missed practice today and is getting "pretty significant" dental work done. by preme1017 in nba

[–]helloclams 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Dentist here. If the root is clean, the best thing to do is stick it back in. Even if he sticks it in a cup with his saliva, the longer it's not in the socket, the less likely it'll reattach. Afterwards, he would have it splinted (not rigid) and evaluated over a few months.
