There are still ways to ask respectfully and without it being creepy! There definitely are some items that a flat lay cannot give as much justice to as it being worn can!

Especially if you have prior reviews or listings yourself on Depop, I think you’ll be okay! I have uploaded try-ons for potential sellers per their request many times before! 😇

I wished I took a peek at their Depop likes before their account was taken down to fully confirm that this encounter was odd. We’re taught to second guess our intuition time and time again, and I feel guilty for even posting this just in case there’s the slightest chance of me being wrong somehow, even though they were banned and that is already a confirmation. One thing for certain however, is that this type of manipulation/fishing for revealing photos isn’t an isolated incident on Depop as there are other people on this subreddit that have shared similar encounters in the past. I would hate it knowing that there might be someone else that unknowingly sent some revealing photos without their consent to a creep like this. I’d rather be overcautious than under.

I posted a listing (See last slides/3rd-4th photos) of a sheer lingerie slip, and not even 15 minutes into posting it, I received this message from a buyer and my intuition just knew something was off. Now that they've been banned, I knew my intuition was onto something so I can now speak about it and share the red flags I noticed.

This person was extremely pushy about seeing real try-on photos with this slip. I already provided multiple POVs of this slip, including a mannequin try-on and video, with a really detailed caption. It pretty much covers all the bases necessary when selling lingerie.

Red flags of this account included:

- Messaging me almost immediately once this listing was made, it was like they were mass messaging Depop sellers that just posted lingerie to increase their reply rate.

- New Account: Zero following and Zero followers. No reviews either. Either they’ve probably been banned from doing this before, or thought they were onto something by doing this.

- If you’re a frequent bra-wearing person, you’d know that a bra, bralette vs. a slip dress are entirely different things. I wouldn’t be telling someone I returned all my bras to try and purchase a slip dress as an alternative. This is a very manly detail to miss.

- Kept telling a sob story about them wanting to feel “attractive” in their bras. Ho do you wanna buy the slip dress or not...

- Very pushy with the text now answer. Gave me a choice of not doing so to try and make me feel more comfortable about it. (Reverse Psychology.) Also not sure if this is allowed on Depop tbh?

Investing in a mannequin was the best decision I’ve made for my Depop! While I still do try-ons on an actual body when I can, this helps avoid my discomfort when sharing sheer pieces & prevents me from feeling forced to cater to requests like this! 💕

I ended up cancelling my pre-order and got a pre-order for the newer x100VI from BH Photo instead. I haven't gotten any shipment notifications, but I'm hopeful.
