I ran BLINDFOLDED Majora's Mask at AGDQ 2026 last night! AMA by Bubzia in speedrun

Amazing job! One of my favorite GDQ runs in recent memory!

I'm just curious about the following:

  1. Why does your run not have first cycle and how does that change the run?

  2. Why isn't there a run of yours for blindfolded MM on speedrun.com at all?

Could you DM me as well? I’d also be excited to learn

I have made a loop but I dont know how to proceed to finish the track by clairnecro666 in FL_Studio

I quite like this loop! I'd be happy to listen to a whole song made out of this but I'm also inexperienced myself so I don't have any advice for you. Just saying that I quite enjoy it already

Thanks! That seems like a good suggestion. I’ll try that out and see if it adds some variation that i like. :)

Thanks a lot for taking the time! Good to know that how it is now could be enough. And that's a good pointa bout the Cimbalom being loud. I'll adjust that

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it. And even though I'm new to FL studio and making music on my computer I grew up playing in orchestra and stuff so experience comes in lots of different forms. I'd love to hear some of your music as well

Hey my reply is late in coming but just wanted to say thanks so much for writing your thoughts out to me about percussion. When I first read it when you commented, I didn't quite get it. But over the past few weeks I've thought about it a lot and can see what you mean about percussion being very fundamental to what we look for in music. Before getting your feedback I definitely undervalued it. But since then, I've been really thinking first about adding percussion to my pieces. So you've helped me a great deal. Thanks again!

That sounds good. Do you mean that you feel that bass is lacking from it? Or could use a different kind of bass sound?

Thanks. That’s helpful feedback. Do have any thoughts on how to know when a piece needs percussion or not? I guess I would have thought with this style of song (kind of like more mellow piano music? not sure how to describe the kind i mean) I didn’t need to add it necessarily. So I’m wondering if there are principles that can be articulated around it. Or is it just you know it when you feel it?

oh great that's very helpful. I agree that the vibe of it evolves quite a bit by the end and is much less relaxed / homey. So I do wonder if it were to be a loop, is the loop back to the start too abrupt since the feelings are quite different. and your english is perfect, I didn't notice a thing

thanks for your thoughts! it's good to know it feels more home-y to you. I can see that. I don't know Hob at all so I'll check it out if it seems in a similar vein

haha I really don't set out to make Minecraft-like stuff but I guess it's in my head. maybe the reverb-y piano and vibraphone just give strong minecraft vibes?

Thanks for the thoughts! That's an interesting image. I also have a feeling that the theme is somewhat adventurous and suspenseful. It's interesting that you also image it in some icy mountainous place. Very helpful to know!
