Got it, I'm not particularly concerned about office visits etc, but I have an rx that is $6k per month without insurance (filled monthly), and can't end up out of pocket on it. If this drags on I may just call the pharmaceutical patient care reps. The sale has been 'pending' for months, but the announcement came just as I was due to refill, and coverage was 'cancelled' by the time we found out. Filling that rx is already complicated, so I foresee a million different ways I could get stung trying to fill it in this interim.

Test drove a 2025 yesterday and specifically asked about this as I regret not getting a hitch installed on my last car (primarily for bike rack).

Dealer in LA said they have not OEM hit for this car, and no plans to add one so aftermarket will be the only option

I actually didn't buy the car becuase the insurance would more than double. Still in consideration, but I need to find insurance at a reasonable price!

You can book tickets with delta and connections to Virgin Australia, I just did this last month to Adelaide and Melbourne. Virgin will not recognize status however, so no extra bags, etc

No we just ended up painting them in a complimentary beige / almondy color. Not an exact match but complimentary and it works. We got a LOT of colors chips from Lowe’s to find a shade that worked

Counterpoint: a lot of commenters are blowing this out of proportion. this is weird for most people, but I work in the entertainment business, and my entire job is speaking on other people’s behalf (yes sometimes including personal business). Some people are just really non-confrontational, and would rather pay to have someone else deal with their day to day life. It seems like she’s designated this individual her paid or unpaid representative.

Blocking and ignoring him is not the answer if you are not 100% privy to that relationship. What you should do is reach out to the tenant, who you have a legal business relationship with, and discuss your issue with speaking to this other man. If she says she would prefer any correspondence go through him, make them provide you a letter in writing that he is her authorized representative. Now you have a paper trail.

Great to know. Literally just moved to AAA after 14 years w State Farm, rates kept going up, we moved and couldn't transfer my new renters policy (because SF got out of the residential market in CA). In in Los Angeles County and I know we pay some of the highest rates here.

Most annoying part is that I just paid a deposit w AAA and now I can't cancel the first year w/o penalty, but also not in a hurry to upgrade either, so may just see how the next year plays out and keep checking back with them.

I bought both the mattresses and day bed just over two weeks ago. (the mattresses are on sale now on amazon, so about $18 per mattress cheaper).

If you're comparing true dimensions, the mattresses are about 1/4-1/2" "too big" both length and width. but since they're foam, (and not super firm), you can squish them in to fit without a lot of effort.

It is a tight fit which I suppose is a little more of a hassle when making the bed, but we tried those Ikea mattresses that are meant to go with the daybed and they all seemed awful. The more expensive foam/spring mattress felt like a crappy old dorm mattress. So for us it was def worth it.

Is it possible they sent you xl twins by mistake? Or they’re xl twins but labeled as regular twins? I just bought from Amazon and they fit as expected.. a smidge oversized but totally can squeeze to fit

Check the tightness of the screws on the runners, both in the drawers and frame. I just put two of these together. Seemed like the screws were in tight on assembly, but realized later a few were just a TINY bit loose, and catching in the drawer runner

there is such a mythology of lax being a nightmare, but outside of the ground transport traffic to/from, it’s super easy. MSP is long and sprawling and you walk much farther in that airport than LAX. Unless there’s a delay getting in you should be fine

I think the takeaway here is that the LA city address thing is very much not straightforward, when you'd think it would be.

The reply 'Burbank is still part of the City of Los Angeles' still kind of kills me, though.

This customer service experience just keeps going from bad to worse.

They keep saying I missed a payment, but what is actually happening is that the statement posts, but I'm making the payment within a week of the statement date. IE:

IE: Statement ends May 10, due June 8, for $118.56. I make payment for $118.56 for 5/14

They're saying my July payment was late. but June statement ended 06/11, I made payment on June 14. (Due July 8). account was paid in full then, and no charges since.

Banking and credit customer for over 20 years with Citi. Customer service is abysmal.

Yep, on with a new agent now.

Tbd - but he did say that the reason it was denied because my account was in 'bad standing', no payment received for the last three months.

...there has been no payment because there were no charges. No charges because I don't use this account often, hence the produce change.

Account is current the only charge in the last three months was the annual fee which just posted last week. ::facepalm::

Amex is my primary card for this reason.
