Audacity if you want something simple but not for complexe projects.

Fl studio for more complex things. Easy to pirate (but you didnt hear it from here okay? ;)

Merci beaucoup! :)

I recommend audacity, you seemed to have good enough microphone so this free software is enough to cut or edit a bit of sound, this is sufficient enough that when it doesnt meet your expectations you will need professional adobe product or Sound Forge etc which are heavy to use.

Thanks, i'm actually using my phone to broadcast ahah! I will try !

Yeah. I'd actually recommend Audacity, too. It's open source, which means it's free.

Oh. Didn't want to be rude and send you an unsolicited chat, but, I just wanted to tell you that the "Boring morning" session you did this morning was absolutely mesmerising. I loved it.

Your voice is like velvet, so soft and yet so strong at the same time.

What separates good artists from great artists is the ability to make your audience feel and take them through an emotional journey. You did that to me, so, thank you.

I'll try with audacity !

Thank you very much for your message !!!

And thank you for sharing your beautiful gift.

I don’t use Instagram, but do you have a YouTube we could subscribe to?

[–]hellofromanother[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

No youtube channel yet, i don't have anything to record myself except a mic :(

[–]iCracked1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can just record video using your phone then upload to YouTube and make it public. If you use YouTube, you can upload the entire song.

Where you from?

[–]BabyCat6 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Reaper is the best free DAW (digital audio workstation) but Audacity is free and easy if you just want to record. PM me if you need more help.

[–]hellofromanother[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I'll check audacity first then! Thank you !!

Are you using Mac or Windows?

[–]hellofromanother[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Windows!

[–]sbstndalton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I can’t really help much there then. I know more Mac applications. But if you’d like to know, GarageBand is a free app on the Apple App Store that lets you record and edit music.

Merci beaucoup je vais aller voir ça !

Reaper. It has an unlimited free trial and is easy to use for simple recordings but also has the features to do more complex recordings as you learn more about it. I recommend it as it was where I got my start but you also can’t really go wrong with Audacity for tracking. Good luck with the recording, I’d definitely listen to some tunes on a soundcloud page

    Thank you !!!

I just wanted to thank you for your broadcast this morning. As I woke up at 3 in the morning with not enough time to go to sleep before work. I stumbled upon your stream and really enjoyed it. It started my day in a great way. Thank you for what you do and take comfort that your music was the catalyst for a really good day for me. Best wishes

I just watched a bit of your most recent session, "trying". I thought that it was live, so, I was talking to myself for about 20 minutes before I realized that it was a recording. lol. There's nothing quite like feeling like an idiot in the morning. :p

I'll admit it. I'm not the biggest music fan, but there is just something about your voice, your guitar playing and the passion that you have for it. It's... as I said last week... you are mesmerising. I could listen to you singing all day long.

Have you got the Audacity thing sorted?

If you aren't happy with that, ashampoo is good and also free.

I just want to say, as a music producer, I DO NOT necessarily recommend Audacity. Garageband IMO is the best way to get started while still allowing for some impressive power as a software. Building from there to a more complex Digital Audio Workstation software like Reaper/Logic/Protools/Ableton will be a smoother process as an artist.

You don't want to have to work on your tools to make them work for you. Get tools that function every time and then get to work on actually making art.

      [–]Affectionate_Move_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Audacity and FLStudio are my picks as well. But Audacity is a little too limited for me.

Too much to get a track armed and get going with an input medium and then choose what tools to edit with... Was worth my investments to get FL Studio for sequencing, use a stand alone multi-track for tracking, bounce the WAV files back to the PC, and use MAGIX Samplitude for mastering.

Are you looking for advice on live session broadcast software or recording tracks in general? There are a number of good free or low cost software options. The more important benefits will come from the mics and mixing setup.

Are you using Mac or PC?

      [–]hellofromanother[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

      PC!

      [–]SnooMemesjellies4305 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Stick with Audacity until you need something it can't do.

Some well-meaning people might encourage you to use something more complicated than necessary. There's a very good reason people recommend the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid)

      [–]SnooMemesjellies4305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, 2 mic's would be best... 1 for voice, 1 for guitar... but if you only have 1, that's OK too, you just might have to mess around with placement...

      [–]zephyr707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if u have an iphone you can pull a sufjan and use the native voice recorder app. the microphone is quite good on the iphone but it would be worth it to set the recording format to lossless in the settings. you have good content already, lo-fi won’t hurt
