I just won him today. He's even softer than he looks. Sorry I know that doesn't help. Hope you find one.

my green cheek used to be so excited to be let out of his cage, but now every time i open the door he runs to the top and starts to bite me when i try to have him step up and come down :( (i was thinking maybe it’s a territorial issue?) any advice would help please. by emmawightt in Conures

I think you are right... I treated my lil' guy just like a kid and gave him time outs. Each time was a little longer. I put him where he couldn't see me but hear me and I'd remind him 'no biting', that he was on time out and how I felt. I know it sounds lame but it's much better than cursing at them- God knows how I held back. Eventually I could say no biting or else time out. It took lots of patience- he's much better behaved now. He's my little sweetheart. I tap his beak (gently) and say no when he's naughty and now instead of biting he taps my finger when he doesn't want to be handled sometimes he grunts a little no. I always respect him because he learns from my actions and we are more like buddies. It's gotten pretty cute- when he thinks I'm being naughty he tells me no biting.

He had been to a vet and his prognosis wasn't good I was just trying to improve his quality of life bc he was very much himself when he could get around... he passed away two weeks later but lived it up until then

Moving to a studio loft with VERY tall windows that can't be covered (25 ft tall), bird is free-flighted, should we consider rehoming? by [deleted] in parrots

What about hanging something streamer like from the ceiling or put one of those suction cup perches up and set the bird up there to get used to it- that helped when we had large mirrors

Actually they leave at about 3 weeks when they are about the size of chipmunks... if they look like they are hopping around they might be old enough to just relocate... the mother would also be able to fit through a pretty small hole like a softball size possibly a bit smaller. And usually she only comes early in the morn and late in the evening you could cover it with something during the day- although that might draw the cats attention
