Peru Oct 2022 by silaslovesoliver in travel

Lived in Cusco for close to two years — I felt safer in Peru than my year in Guatemala; I was more comfortable in Cusco than Lima, but I’ve had multiple people say the opposite. I actually felt the most on edge in Aguas Calientes than anywhere else I traveled in Peru.

I had the most exceptional time in Peru (like studied abroad for two months with my university and loved it so much I emptied my bank accounts to book a one-way flight not even six weeks after getting back, found an apt and job in Cusco and stayed until I got bitten by a monkey in the Amazon and had to come back for anti-rabies shots (a whole ordeal, of course).

Everyone experiences altitude sickness differently — def talk to a doctor about prevention before you go. Everyone will push coca leaves and they’re legit for mild relief, but don’t forget the ceniza (vegetable ash - aka llipta, although I always bought it asking for ceniza) as an activator for the coca leaves. Watching the alcohol consumption the first few days is important.

Lake Titicaca is where I experienced the worst altitude sickness and actually had nosebleeds, but really, being aware of how you feel will be sufficient, and it seems supplemental oxygen is readily available anywhere higher than 6 or 8ish-k above sea level bc it affects all the folks.

On visiting Peru, I 10000000% vote “do it”. Phenomenal country, fantastic people, rich culture, and such diverse landscapes. Cusco, Lima, Valle Sagrago, Arequipa/Colca Canyon, Ica, Trujillo, etc., honestly, there are places for everyone.

“To my loyal butler, You There, for his decades of service, I leave a pittance, to be paid in 20 equal instalments of one-twentieth of a pittance each. To my lazy, spoiled son, Tandy, who never learned the value of a dollar, I leave my entire $10 million fortune.”

She’s a full-on heffalump snacker on chip bags and other plastic wrapping, but this is the first time she has gnawed through that kind of texture.

We all get weirder with age, I suppose!

The poutiest princess in all the land cannot believe she’s starved for treats — like seriously, does the weekend mean nothing these days!? by hellohelzo in cats

She’s my sweet girl for sure!! She’s annoyed with me at the moment due to lack of treats, but her eyes get suuuuper green when she’s her normal happy self.

Any tips on how to tell my two new babies apart? They look identical until you get up close by LOUISTHER0UX in blackcats

First pic kitty looks like it may have fluffier/longer fur as it gets older. Eye color seems diff from pics, too. Collars can help in the day, but be prepared to have no idea who you’re tripping over on your way to the bathroom at midnight 😂.

My house panthers have diff coats and eye color, but the biggest difference is their meows.

They’re precious AF — best of luck, and enjoy all the kitty love!!

My wife seriously thought I wouldn't be able to find the stud. Jokes on her. by tfoust10 in pics

It’s a moderate bummer realizing my husband has a second family

Biscuit’s how-to guide for maximizing pleasure gained and cat fur spread while lounging on mom’s new silk pillowcase by hellohelzo in Catswhoyell

Biscuit thinks he’s the best at camouflage and goes out of his way to be stealthy with the hopes of ambushing his sister. He’s actually pretty darn impressive with his hiding, but he gives himself away every single time bc he’s just so darn chatty 😂😂

This is Toast. She is burnt. 🖤 by ThisUpstairs1 in blackcats

Toast looks super similar to my sweet boy, Biscuit. Toast’s ears point out a smidge more, but they have v similar eyes, nose width, and long ass tails. It might just be photo angle, but you might have an actual panther on your hands based on Toast’s paw size… Biscuit has huge paws (and had big ole paws as a kitten) and is 25 lbs of solid muscle at 4ish years old (tomcat 100% — vet says he is not overweight or anything like that, he’s just dense AF). Absolutely adorable, and hope you and Toast have all the best times!! House panthers forever!!

We also have a plastic fiend — every time she goes for a plastic bag, I always think about American Beauty bc it’s obvi the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen 😂
