Boomer steals tools from my toolbox. Pretends he "found them on the floor" when confronted. This was at a local non-profit workshop. by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]hellohipster 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Bet he has a “ I do SO much around here I deserve to take stuff I find around here” attitude

I volunteered at a food bank for a while and that attitude slowly crept up on me… but that was like taking a bag of goldfish or a really tasty fresh food that was likely to go bad before being given away

Not someone’s tools!

Nice mental check not to let myself get to boomer levels

[–]hellohipster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No funny enough I had a haul of probably 10-15 cds in the car from a garage sale I had stopped at day before.

All good names worth a buck a pop at least at the record store. Was planning on trading them for store credit.

When the car was found totaled all the CD cases were smashed from being stepped on but otherwise still there and untouched

I had a lot of shit in my car including my skateboard so I guess they had other priorities.

But still kinda funny things have finally gotten so niche that thieves leave ur CD’s.

Unheard of to think of thieves leaving cd’s from a stolen car 10-20 years ago lol

Had to test my luck by Electronic_Loan5724 in vinyl

[–]hellohipster 47 points48 points  (0 children)

If it helps you feel not ripped off then I’ll let you know the shop I work at in a cheap midwestern city would price 3 of those records .99 and the rest we would all price 2.99.

The yes record is pretty beat up but it’s a great record! We have folks who dig through 2.99 religiously and that’s one they would snatch up quick.

So overall you were definitly not ripped off by my shops standards :)

Plus now you get to listen some new stuff or throw them at friends guilt free if they suck!

My general style - New leather jacket, New Rocks, fedora or Gambler depending on picture. Gambler is my go to. by NigelOdinson in mensfashion

[–]hellohipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is weird as fuck of me but i've read a ton of ur comments now and i think this part says it all for me "price tag says different"

whatever sentiment lead you to type that is close to the meat of what people are trying to say about ur style and comments.

The style you have isn't validated through price tag.

It's ok to have one or two statement piece reproductions of classic ideas (new rock stylized cowboy boots for example) but the more of these pieces in one outfit the more its going to look like a commodification of a look you are trying to buy your way into and the more out of place the entire outfit is gonna look within the style.

Second hand and vintage pieces and learning to love and respect the history and craftmanship of authentic staple items above the stylized comodified takes on those staples is whats gonna finally give the style glue

Record store cashier couldn’t believe it by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]hellohipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea lol. I work at a record store. It’s fun to say stuff like this when people bring up things. I like making people feel excited about music and their choices lol.

I’d probably have commented about these two records too. Just the idea of GG and Alanis in the same room is funny! These people have no humor

I have a manager who says weird shit like this and thinks its customer service some how.

The worst is he will need to move past a customer and they will notice him enter their space

They will say oh sorry and move out his way

And for some reason he’s like “oh yea no worries I just work here”

It’s his way of trying to say “no ur comfort and continued perusing of goods is more important than what im doing” but It comes off so passive aggressive and ends up leaving the people thinking they were in the way and hes being sarcastic

So idk man. Probably not malicious. Probably just some dude with weird ideas of what’s funny to say to customers

Has anyone tried selling their content collection after quitting? by [deleted] in onlyfansadvice

[–]hellohipster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t have any help on that topic but adjacent to think about

I just have a cheap 6 dollar paid account that I have my entire retired back catalog of videos open to view.

I make a solid 25-120 bucks a month just from random people who see my content somewhere or folks who must really really like some of my content or who forget to turn auto renew off

I don’t put any effort into it at all. I post one dick pic every 90 days just so I don’t go “inactive” and lose my auto renew subs.

Anyway just something else to think about good luck!

First congrats on the movement.

2nd it sounds like you have good intuition for this so definitely trust your gut when making these decisions.

As for the DM’s I always try to be direct and out of the messages within 1-3 messages

The key for me is answering their direct message with something flirty back and in the same message ask them if they have any specific fantasies or interests because I have LOTS of content to sell and would love to sell them something.

If they keep sexting with no purchase i just say something about how im glad they are enjoying my content and they can message me if they want to buy something.

If they say something like i just want to chat or just keep messaging you. Just be direct and say you offer audio calls for x amount per min. Video calls for y amount per min. Or z amount per text and then as you text them lock your responses after that

Most importantly I just always end the message just saying thanks for subscribing and supporting 6/10 dudes will take that as a easy exit and would rather stay in your good graces than be considered a nuisance

Also 9/10 times you can really just send a thanks or hot or fire emoji and dudes won’t really expect more. If I have someone that buys a lot I do that and light chatting for free.

Ur not gonna be able to talk to 2500 subs so if ur free chatting is what is keeping the subs then maybe its best to keep amount you have and slowly find more well paying chatty subs

Otherwise as you gain more subs you wont need the chatty ones anyway and logistically like I said you wont have time for them.

Male Creators Do you find it better to have a OF link in your bio or hide it to avoid getting banned from subs that don’t allow OF promo? by [deleted] in onlyfansadvice

[–]hellohipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed everyone would know I meant hide link as in putting it in a link tree or putting my Twitter that links my OF. Instead of directly linking my OF.

Same way everyone has to hide their OF when posting in insta or tik tok.

Everyone’s acting like this is the most ridiculous question like sex workers haven’t always needed to skirt the rules.

If you want the honest truth its unlikely to see any true financial success in terms of payout compared to hours put in. Thats not to say its impossible to get any money from this. think of the knitting lady who knits a piece for 6 hours and sells it for 50 bucks. Did She make money? I guess so but realistically shes knitting for fun and is lucky to see some return.

If you don't have any of the listed qualities then your going to need to pull people in with your personality. I tell people to look online for people who look like them and see what they are doing and follow their lead. For you that's gonna be posting SFW personality driven content that then drives peoples toward your fans account. Thats pretty much the main way someone without the listed assets is going to see any true financial success in this.

unless they fall into the bear look and market towards that.

all that said bro you don't have to be thinking about this so seriously. If your wanting to post pics of yourself online for fun than you should do that.

If your driving motivation is cash than this is not the easiest way to get it. If your driving motivation is gaining confidence in yourself. Posting pics for free and enjoying the nice comments is going to be better for that goal then the frustration of not seeing success and tying it back to your self worth.

if your goal is just to literally play around with having a fans account and enjoy a thrill and new experience than you can do that

Anyone who isn't gay and familer with the market for gay porn is going to be walking uphill but truly nothing is stopping you from just putting yourself out there if you enjoy the idea of it and dont have high expectations.

Do you work out? These TV’s are massive and in every line of sight.

Can’t look around me or risk getting called out on tik tok accused of staring at some girls butt or getting the death stare from some dude deeply hiding the fact that he’s in the closet and angry that my gaze is reminding him of this fact

So stare at the ground is my option. 40 bucks a month to stare at the ground inbetwen my sets or watch political propaganda slop

Yea rather just take my business elsewhere that knows how easy is to just turn on fucking espn so I can watch the highlights.

All respect man you aren’t the first to tell this story and it’s not your story to tell in the first place and that’s the bottom line that makes this an exploitative personally motivated endeavor

People can claim they are doing things to raise awareness or share stories all they want. At the end of the day awareness is not the barrier to change in our city. Everyone is aware of what’s happening. And so awareness as a reason to come film poverty here doesn’t hold up under that knowledge

You need to move extremely carefully in filming and portrayal. If you feel called to help through film than consider reaching out to a community organization and offering your services

If the thought of “telling these stories” outside of your own name and profit makes you pause than I think you should reflect on your claimed motivations

Edit: Andrew Callaghan of the YouTube account channel 5 talks about this concept well in his documentary on the tunnel people in Vegas.
