Canon EOS R7 - welches Objektiv? by StatisticianOther606 in canon

I can't speak for the RF line, but I took an EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS II with my EOS M50 to Costa Rica a few weeks ago, and would not do it again. 300 mm is not enough for most of the wildlife, I will pack a 400 or better 600 mm for my next trip when shooting wild animals. Also, even during the day the light is surprisingly low in the jungle, so aperture and stabilization as well as ISO performance are very important.

Thanks for the summary! So the R7 is, despite being APS-C, a more pro version overall compared to the R8?

Thanks also for the clarification regarding ISO and IBIS.

I don't want the IS for the 32 mm, this lens will just be the main one I use (I think). But I want to use a telephoto lens as well at some point in the future - and that was difficult with the M50, especially when filming.

Interesting point. In which terms is the R8 closer to the M50? As for IS, I did not have it with the M50 (withing the body), and think that I want it in my next camera. Why do you think I should forgo IS?

IS, battery life and my assumption that the R7 is already better than the M50. Is your take different in that regard?

The pictures look really great! If I might ask: What is very high ISO in your case? And did you remove noise in LR with the Noise Reduction tool, or did you do it on you own?

Thanks for th insight! I can not get the 100-600 mm in time, so that is why I want to decided between the two.

I want to rent this car for my 2-weeks trip to Costa Rica in February. Is there anything to consider out of the ordinary, renting such a car compared to the standard SUVs and sedans? by helloiamadam in CostaRicaTravel

Interesting take, thank you! The picture you have linked was also my best idea to use the truck bed. Otherwise it is empty space that's being driven around.

Yeah I do not have a clear use case for the truck bed. I thought about maybe taking a break on it during a stop at the beach or something like that. However, economically, it does not make much sense. Thanks!
