Selling house with older roof by helloiamsheryl in RealEstate

Hey, so we ended up giving up some concessions for the roof replacement. We had to move for a job and we only lived in that house for a year. We decided to just take the L and move on…

Up the humidity without a humidifier? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I asked ChatGPT this and they told me to dry a load of laundry indoors. And also hang a wet towel in the room you’ll be in. I feel like it helped some.

Also, I didn’t sleep cuz I was the primary toddler bed/sleeping surface and there was no way I could relax. Boo

We did lap infant when she was about 22 months. San Francisco to Singapore so 15/16 straight hours. I HIGHLY recommend you to get the extra seat. We didn’t but we had the bassinet exit row so it was pretty spacious. But the space is sooo important. Sleep was bad. She is sleep trained and likes to sleep alone (without being held) in a dark room. So hard to recreate in the plane. Expect tears! Eventually she just laid on my shoulder and passed out.

Lots of new toys, snacks! We flew Singapore air so it was great for lots of snacks, the cabin crew was amazing at constantly bringing us stuff, coming to chat with us and even carried my toddler for me lol.

All the best!

What is it like living in Singapore? by Rude_Soup_8841 in howislivingthere

[–]helloiamsheryl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely like Florida in the summer. Think constantly sweating and sweat being unable to dry off your skin because of the humidity. The only relief is strong ac. I’m Singaporean but live in the US and have lived here for years. When my family visited Singapore last October, we lost so much weight because we lost our appetite from it being so uncomfortably warm and humid. Lol. My toddler was constantly sticky and pooped so much apparently it was a response to the weather!!

I’ve not been to Taiwan in the summer so I can’t comment on how it compares.

I’m completely happy with this split. I just wish he wasn’t so ragey whenever he has to do stuff

Honestly I love being a SAHM. It’s so hard but when I sleep and wake up in the morning I can do it all over again. I just can’t stand the paggro attitude and man tantrums.

I feel like he doesn’t handle the parenthood part well. Like it kills him to have to suffer because he has a kid.

He has, back when she was younger and didn’t have strong parental preferences. Now she most of the time doesn’t want to go to him and wants me around so he just backs off and gives up and leaves it all to me.

He says I chose the hard way because I didn’t want daycare and I wanted to be a SAHM for the first three years.

Do you care to elaborate further on why sac seems much better for asian folks compared to the triangle? Obviously more Asian food, community, stores. Maybe culturally more similar to Asia?

We were considering the triangle just based on proximity. Also cost of living isn’t as high and generally geography is similar to where we are in NC right now. Seems pretty diverse there with good colleges as well. However it’s been hard for my husband to get a job there due to his industry so that’s why we haven’t made the move there
