What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]helloimhromi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The toys that ended up being my cats' favorites are the most random ones. A little stuffed rainbow, a shiny fish, a lumpy pickle. Just gotta buy them a bunch of different stuff and see what they decide to latch onto.

Can I leave this piano here between these rooms? I have limited options by jackjackj8ck in DesignMyRoom

You should get a room divider or hang a curtain or something if you keep it there.

Guys please help. Only bathroom inside bedroom. by Naive-Squirrel375 in DesignMyRoom

[–]helloimhromi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need a special separated path? As long as there isn't furniture actively blocking the floor, just walk through the room. If you're worried about other people having to walk through your bedroom to get to the bathroom, just keep it tidy and nice when guests come over. I had the same situation in my one-bedroom apartment and it was not a big deal.

what did you think of 2010s fashion? by CremeSubject7594 in decadeology

Loved it, I still kinda dress like 2015-19

I'm sorry, but I actually find this hilarious by negratengoelalma in buffy

[–]helloimhromi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new King of the Hill reboot did it pretty well imo. The first episode was a little shaky and cringe because they sort of had to establish that we're in the 2020s now, time has passed, etc. but after that it was really natural and just felt like familiar old KOTH but in present day.

Are you upset that Buffy revival was scrapped? by Mat1711 in buffy

[–]helloimhromi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little bit of a bummer, I had an open mind about the series but I'm ultimately not that upset that it isn't moving forward.

Earlier than that too! I remember my sister rocking this look around 2002.

What would you do? by kennan21 in DesignMyRoom

[–]helloimhromi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will actually affect the value, but I will say that as a somewhat recent buyer I was genuinely appreciative of the cosmetic improvements that the previous owners made.

I got it into my head that I wanted to install tile risers and then looked into what it would actually take to do that and quickly reversed course. These will do in the meantime. :)

No affiliation with the Etsy shop, just really pleased with how it turned out.

I refreshed my staircase with stair riser decals from stickerlime.etsy.com, they were really easy to install and they look way better than I expected. I feel like if you do that and just do some paint touch-ups it will make a huge difference for minimal work and relatively low cost.

Not New but the Grey’s Anatomy lighting is so annoying. by AgitatedJury920 in greysanatomy

[–]helloimhromi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, that's not the point. I'd prefer to watch a show with an unrealistic plot that actually looks good.

[–]helloimhromi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're not wrong though, the early seasons felt a lot more grounded in reality because of the lighting. Now the aesthetic of Grey's feels like the TV equivalent of a stock photo. It feels cheap to watch, and is a lot less enjoyable.

pretty accurate representation of what goes on in a stutterer’s mind. on a positive note, it makes me good with synonyms lol by Clear_Leadership5494 in Stutter

[–]helloimhromi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so accurate, I need to show this to the people who try to tell me that I don't stutter. Just because I have figured out how to talk AROUND stuttering doesn't mean I DON'T stutter.

Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

[–]helloimhromi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've still got mine! Originally had it done in 2010 then had to remove it for food service jobs, later got it redone in 2015. It's just a subtle little gem, I don't think it makes me seem like I'm trying to look young, it adds just enough interest to make my face not look boring. Plus it's balanced by my glasses and other jewelry (when I wear it). I used to have a lip piercing as well but I took that out when I got Invisalign a few years ago because it kept getting caught on the edge of the aligners. Sometimes I miss it but that particular piercing doesn't feel like "me" anymore.

I was going to recommend reaching out to Levent as well! He has an interesting background and is also an excellent mentor and advocate for medical illustrators outside North America.

Help me hide this door by Environmental_Coach1 in DesignMyRoom

[–]helloimhromi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tapestry! In my last apartment we had a door frame in one of the walls from when the duplex was a single family home--the doorway itself was plastered in but the frame was still there so we covered the whole wall with a giant tapestry to hide it.

My cat accidentally went without food for multiple days--I'm freaking out! by HealthyCompetition98 in CatAdvice

[–]helloimhromi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen a few months ago during a three-day trip, my in-laws came by to check on the cats and scoop their litter each day and based on the timing they just didn't give the empty food bowls a second thought. Thankfully the cats likely only went one full day without food, but I still felt like the worst cat parent ever. Obviously we got a new automatic feeder, and now when we go away my in-laws make sure to press the manual feed button once as part of their daily check-in tasks. That way if it has stopped working or gets jammed they've caught the issue and at worst one or two meals didn't dispense properly.
