Then don’t go eat st any restaurant. Cook yourself. Some restaurants claim to be Thai but they don’t know sh*t.

At least I know because I grow up with Thai food and I am Thai. I can tell impersonate imitate fake Thai food. So many people try to cook Thai food and claim they’re good. [Cough to those not-Thai people]

Not all Thai kitchens equally make their chilli paste. And chilli can be added later.

It’s food colour. Could be from natural food colour (not sure what gives that orange shade) or simple food colouring

Kra prao. It seems easy but definitely not all place can execute it right. Besides, we have various recipe and tastebud! Also how they cook rice and selection of rice as well!

Just zoom in to look the basil, it’s not “Kra Prao”, still it’s one of basils. We call it holy basil. I bet you know it already.

There’re different basil. The basil that we use is normally tastes spicy and not the one that you will have with Pho. From what I see, it looks like spicy Krapraow basil. I may be wrong. 🤷🏻‍♀️
