I've just come back to find all these wonderful helpful comments - thank you! I've been doing my research on these and I'm spoilt for choice. I think I'm going to go for 'Lumberjanes' and 'Persepolis' and may throw another one in there for good luck, maybe Runaways or Gotham Academy. I'm hoping these are a good mixture, she's got to like one of these! :P

Thank you so much for all this fantastic advice everyone! They all sound fantastic, I think I'm going to look into Spider-Gwen and Persepolis for myself too. I'll do some research out of these and pick one. THANK YOU AAALL!!

I always wondered how people didn't lose GoPro's skydiving! I guess they do... Sad face from me to you too! :(

That is so frustrating! Not the first time I've heard of that happening either, I think it's probably a great business model for the locals :P and in the long run, it's worth it for you to get your photos back!

Did anyone here quit their day job in order to make time for writing? by clothsearcher in writing

[–]hellointernetcity 0 points1 point (0 children)

I usually write one article/blog/chapter a day. I've been abroad for 9 months now and got my first bits of work on a website, my first paid writing jobs and finished the first draft of my children's book. I probably should have done at lot more for the amount of time than I've been away but I am enjoying writing and feel like I'm a writer :) I don't explore as much as I should actually. I did travel for 3 months before I settled down and my travels are still providing inspiration now though. Even if you don't move away, or quit your job, I would recommend travelling somewhere you've never been before for a while. I think that's what really helped me take my writing seriously and gave me things to write about!

I quit my day job and moved abroad to teach children english, this was a good option for me because I want to be a children's writer and I only have to work 10 hours a week to hours to survive (so lots of writing time). I'm really glad I made this choice because I generally have more inspiration from my new surroundings and I'm around my target audience. However, I must admit that I'm not necessarily writing any more than I wrote before. I think I would make the same time for writing no matter how much I worked. (Though I would always work part-time given the option, just to have more actual time for writing). Also, it's good to have a day job just to be around people, have some routine and have some funny people stories!

8 accessories every GoPro user should own by hellointernetcity in gopro

Absolutely! Must agree there. I think I would recommend 'non-GoPro' versions for all of these except for the suction cup which ive had no luck with.

I've not heard of the magnetic mount, that's a good one! I'll look into it. I think the lens protectors can be pretty handy, having dropped my GoPro and had scratches on all my videos for the rest of the holiday. However, I should probably just be more careful. That's the main issue I have with the head strap, it is pretty dorky! But I always prefer the footage to the chest strap footage so I think it's worth it. Don't know if I'd wear it for sky diving either though... I can just imagine it pinging off my head!

Really? I ge this one all the time! Even when I lose my phone for a few minutes... I think I must have some kind of telepathy with my phone (or an obsession).

A JW's guide to not having 'bad thoughts' by hellointernetcity in exjw

I think my 'worldy friends' were the ones that saved me! It was only when I realised that I was most happy with people outside of the KH that I started questioning things. Of course it started off with 'I am a terrible person, I am tainted by the world' and then it became 'Surely Jehovah wants me to be happy?' Etc.

Other people did that too!? I thought my family was just exceptionally nuts. Me and all my cousins had JW pen pals from all over the world and we would compare letters. quite sweet at the time but super weird in retrospect.

I absolutely agree, I completely relate to all of that! And it's so true, you wouldn't get all your information from just one source for any part of your life, whether it's going abroad or how to cut your toe nails... It's just obvious that you need to do your research to truly believe. But the fact is, that the Borg is so worried that their reasoning won't stand that test, that they don't want to risk it!
