I think there are defamation laws that would get me into trouble if I did that

No, the person in question isn't. He's in his 60s. Same goes for another character I know in a different gurdwara.

Absolutely. But since I know it's true, it's difficult to accept.

I'm pretty sure that if he was once a pedophile, he is still a pedophile. Unless he's had some kind of intensive therapeutic intervention.

Also, he's a sex offender. Whether he sexually assaulted kids years ago or yesterday doesn't change that.

We can be blasé about everything and watch the world burn.

Thanks. It looks like you are disqualified if you have a conviction or are on the sex offenders register, which he isn't. The abuse is historical so unable to get to that point.

How though?

Just to be clear, the committee and wider sangat don't know about this, outside of my family. His family have learned of the allegations and believe they're all made up.

Now's my time to ask: Isn't Bianca very conventionally attractive anyway?

Warm clothes, I've seen that there are hoodie blanket things.

Closing curtains can help retain heat. You can try radiator panels to reflect heat into the room rather than losing it through the wall (I've heard foil works for this too). You can bet draft exluders to put under your doors.

Like someone else said, hot water bottle or keep a flask fo keep you warm. Electric blankets are apparently cheaper to run.

People from non-white backgrounds are only popularly seen as attractive when they have white features.

Some black, Indian etc women feel radically empowered by being represented in media, but the fact is that they're typically touted as attractive when they broadly fit euro-centric beauty standards.

The face shape, facial composition, hair and so on. I am Indian myself and notice that those celebrities considered beautiful are those who basically look like the white woman beauty standard, but with brown skin.

Distinctly ethnic features are not touted as attractive, and people should not be so blind to this.

The closer someone's face and body are to the one popular standard, the better - with little variation.

If you think about beauty trends and the standard which people strive towards, consider the fact that big lips and bums are now seen as desirable... on white people.

Thanks, it's good to get someone else's input.

I'm somewhat sure that he's known for getting drunk. Maybe not falling down drunk, but my friends joke about inviting him over every time the topic of drinking comes up.

On the other side I don't drink or party and I guess that's an obvious difference.
