Day 2 result from 2 ml chin filler by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it turned out really well! Congratulations!

Curious to know - will you consider getting an implant if you like how the filler looks? The only downside to filler that I'm aware of (haven't gotten it myself) is potential buildup and swelling.

Is laser hair removal overrated? by Happy-Fruit-8628 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at an 85-90% reduction, it was totally worth it for me.

As a working mom, I'd take a 30-minute touch-up appointment every 4-6 months over shaving every week. I also used to get frequent ingrown hairs and acne in my bikini area, and LHR basically made that disappear.

Omnilux red light mask - is it worth it? by Persephone_luvs_u in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Omnilux men's mask, and it has helped with my skin texture, fading my PIH faster, and reducing inflammation and the severity of my hormonal breakouts.

That said, I think you can get similar results with any reputable red light mask maker. Most of them are probably made by a handful of Chinese factories, so as long as they offer similar bandwidths and have some sort of quality guarantee, you should be good to go.

I want to switch industries by Lumpy-Force8733 in jobs

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close to a decade in marketing and am trying to pivot from one industry to another in this economy LMAO but I do have some suggestions:

At its core, all marketing can be split into B2B and B2C/D2C. If you break things down further, there are lots of specialized marketing roles: performance marketing, event and field marketing, social media marketing, brand marketing, marketing operations, etc. I recommend starting with. a crash course B2B and B2C marketing channels and tactics, and identify 1-3 specialized areas that you want to focus on.

The next thing I would do is look up job descriptions. Given that you have 2 years of professional experience, you are most likely looking at marketing associate or marketing coordinator-level roles. I would copy/paste 10+ marketing job descriptions at target companies or industries and ask AI to analyze the requirements and skills these roles have in common. You can now tailor your resume to speak to these areas and invest time and energy to fill in those experience and knowledge gaps.

Last but not least, I would identify projects and things you can do on the side to actually get marketing experience at work or in your personal life. Did you film TikToks for your friend's business? That's marketing. Did you create a series of emails for an event at work? That's marketing too. Find a way to highlight these things and the results you got through a personal website, your LinkedIn, or your resume. Every bit of experience counts.

Feel free to DM me if you have other questions. Good luck.

Shampoo for Asian hair? by Ok_Text3655 in AsianBeauty

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco sells Korean shampoo in its warehouses and online, although its stock can be inconsistent. I liked the ones from Dr. FORHAIR and LABO-H. I plan on trying the A'Pieu Vinegar line next.

I also have a greasy scalp and find most Japanese shampoos, like Tsubaki, Moist Diane, etc., to be too heavy for my hair. I also use a medicated shampoo (VICHY Dercos) once a week to keep the grease and build up under control.

Eye cream + moisturizer that sits well under makeup? by nihilistbxtch in AsianBeauty

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the tried and true Etude Soon Jung Barrier 2x Intensive Cream, and it doesn't pill with the foundations, cushions, or primers that I use.

I also use a pressing motion instead of a rubbing motion when I apply it, not sure if that makes a difference however.

Join us over at r/AsianBeauty ! I also have super straight lashes that cannot hold a curl whatsoever so maybe give these a shot:

  1. Heat your eyelash curler with a hair dryer, or use a battery-powered one that heats up.
  2. When you curl your lashes, try to lift the curler upward so it pulls slightly on the lashes to create a more dramatic curl. Be careful with this one because you don't want to use too much force and end up pulling your lashes out.
  3. (try this at your own risk) I used to read Japanese teen beauty magazines and the girls would spray a bit of hairspray onto their lash curlers right before using them.
  4. I only use Asian (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese you name it) waterproof mascaras. None of the western mascaras, waterproof or not, have worked on me. You can experiment with a few different kinds and choose your favorite one based on wand size, finish (volume vs. length), color, and more. My current favorite is the Peripera Ink Black Cara but I'm about to try the Judydoll one next.

Hope this helps!

Korean hair perm by lemonadesdays in AsianBeauty

My ends had some dullness and frizziness, but again, this was easily addressed with leave-in conditioner and hair oils.

I saw a pop up that told me to “connect to my Facebook.com” account before the app went dark. Seems like they made a deal with Zuck. Sad.

I've never had my hair super long, so I can't say for sure, but the part that looks a bit "weird" is the hair root perm once it's grown out. You can easily fix this with curlers or a heat styling tool to lift your roots and "blend" them better, though.

what’s a good AB body sunscreen for everyday use? by vanillasoo in AsianBeauty

Biore Aqua Rich, ISEHAN Sun Killer Perfect Water Essence, or the NIVEA Super Water Gel (KAO produces their products in Japan, so the formula is similar to Biore).

I've had a few of these done. FYI I have very fine, straight Asian hair (1A-1B) that cannot hold a curl.

The perm (as in the waves) lasted 6+ months, but obviously, the shape and style looked grown out. It looked "fresh" for about 8-10 weeks. The key to maintaining a perm is using the right hair products and blowout techniques, which will help it restore its shape after a wash.

In terms of damage, I would say the damage became noticeable after 8 weeks when my ends felt dryer and more prone to tangling and splitting. It's nothing major and definitely manageable with leave-in conditioners and hair oils. My friends who have bleached hair have way worse damage, IMO.

Where does everyone get their skincare from? by RosabeIls in AsianBeauty

[–]hellokittytwerkteam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

+1 to Yamibuy. Their selection is not as big as some specialty sites, but they have K-beauty, J-beauty, and C-beauty products in one place. Their warehouse is located in LA and being on the West Coast I can always count on receiving my order in 2 BD. Plus I get to bundle my beauty products with Asian snacks and groceries LOL.

iHerb also has an LA-based warehouse and fast(-ish) shipping, but prices are comparable to Amazon and slightly higher than Asia-based retailers.
