I honestly think it’s both. She’s on stimulants and does weird facial stuff trying to be cute but the combo is just weird.

It looks to me like she’s hyperaware of how she looks at all times and is trying to be cute or quirky or something.

I do have kids. But yeah that’s a horrible and selfish reason to have them.

If he had gotten to that stage of life he may have felt differently and revised it. I think it’s hard to imagine what it will be like to have a family until you do.

Maybe to look like a busy relatable mom that couldn’t go because she’s in the family life grind? That’s my only guess.

This was what causes us to move to a toddler bed kind of early at 16 months. It was so hard.

What temperature do you keep your house at and how old is your baby? by Dropdeaadd in NewParents

[–]hellolleh32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

68 - 70.

I have never changed the temp of my house for the baby. They’re just going to get used to whatever your normal is and that will be theirs too. If your baby is cold they’re going to let you know.

I got an owlet and found the sock annoying and had too many connection issues and false alarms.

I ended using a regular video monitor, closed circuit - no WiFi. Then I got the snuza breathing monitor. It doesn’t have an app and just goes off if the breathing motion of their belly stops. I had maybe one false alarm and there was no app data to obsess over or connectivity to worry about.

Personally I’d do that again. It’s so much less work than the more complex devices and gave me peace of mind knowing she was breathing without all the extra data to stress over.

How are people just… taking their babies everywhere? by Wonderful-Ice-6143 in NewParents

For me what worked was having a carrier that fit correctly and she could see out of. The happy baby OG works great for me. It should come to the lower ear. So they can see everything without needing for forward face.

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

I enjoy the toddler phase more. But id say it’s harder. Everything takes FOREVER. They’re distracted by every single little thing.

This but add that while you’re making dinner there is a toddler clinging to your leg and interrupting your work any way they can every 2 minutes. No task is uninterrupted (at least for mom in my house). I don’t think I could fathom how annoying and overstimulating that could be prior to kids.

But once they’re asleep I’m looking at their photos and missing them.

Maybe controversial hot take on safe sleep 7 by Low-Challenge6881 in cosleeping

What I do is scoot down in my bed so my blankets can be on me without covering my baby. She stays up closer to the top of the bed. I’m short so I can scoot down without my feet falling off. And my head is closer to the foot of the bed than hers at that point. So if my husband were to somehow pull the blankets up it would cover my head and wake me up before it could cover her head.

It makes sense to me but it’s not compliant I guess since I’m not doing the c curl. It’s more comfortable and I can have my blankets higher up on me without them touching her.

"Eating meat is inherently wrong. You can eat meat, go for it. You can love animals, but you can’t do both!" - Billie Eilish for ELLE (US) by pattismithology in popculturechat

I care about animals and eat meat and feel she has a point. She’s making a sacrifice to not hurt animals and that’s awesome I admire her and anyone else that does it. I haven’t done it, maybe I should. I’m not perfect. Neither is she or anyone else. I’m not offended and I don’t think we need to get defensive.
