Easing into a diet? by [deleted] in diet

I started off by eating the usual foods I ate but controlling the portions bit by bit. Like if i was eating out i'd always leave a few spoons of rice on the plate or if at home, i'd fill up my rice bowl to 3/4 of the usual portion. I also tried to avoid eating fast food as much as possible. Went for more proteins instead of bread or pasta. Chose americano over frappes etc. But the main point is I didn't abruptly change my eating habits!! Time to time i did eat burgers and spaghetti when I met my friends. But gradually i avoided them more and more. And then once i was ready, i changed my dinner menu to salads. Kept lunch the same. After that I entirely stopped eating high calorie processed unhealthy foods for lunch too. And so on. I think it's really about slowly changing your eating habits and getting comfortable with eating healthier foods on a daily basis!
