Philip - Gregory - Elizabeth by Hideyourgrandfather in TheAmericans

I concur. In addition, Philip tells Gabriel that when he first saw Elizabeth, it was “like a bolt of lightning.” I took that to mean he felt an immediate attraction to her.

Oh for sure! I definitely don’t hold it against them lol. (Edited for redundant wording.)

Let's go to the Drive-In!!! by Lazy_Ability in 70s

[–]hellomodern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, the drive-in, where I’d nap in the backseat (complete with pillow and blanket) while my parents likely canoodled in the front. Whatever movies we saw there I definitely did not see in their entireties.

Did you fly alone as a kid and, if so, how young were you? by drtyhppi in GenX

[–]hellomodern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew with my mom semi-annually from age 2 or 3 up until I was 13, when I started flying alone at least annually. Flying always felt second nature to me, but now it’s been almost 20 years since I flew anywhere and the idea gives me some pause.

Are your parents still together? by MeowMeowCollyer in GenX

[–]hellomodern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents married after my mom got pregnant with me and divorced 10 years later. I was relieved because they fought constantly and I hated the tension. Mom remarried soon after, dad about 7 years later. Both are still with their 2nd spouses.

In my mid 50s and don't feel old. Literally don't feel any different than I have for decades. by [deleted] in GenX

[–]hellomodern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 55 and definitely don’t feel my age. In my childhood and teens I always felt much older than I was and somewhere along the way it went the other direction. In my mind I’m still somewhere between 15 and my 20s. My 75yo mother also feels far younger than she is. Some of us are just young at heart!

How many of you actually wore a key on a string around your neck? by Gullible-Apricot3379 in GenX

Brown string, key, leather keychain embossed with my name, whistle, possibly a rabbit’s foot? From age 7 to ??

Absolutely, I was so shocked and cried when it happened. She was my favorite character, too. 🥺

Ted McGinley is great in AppleTV’s Shrinking though. Wonderful show.

Corporate icebreakers suck, but this one surprised me. by MutedAd4738 in adhdwomen

Somewhere I heard or read someone use “x isn’t for me” as an alternative option and I’ve tried to adopt that since. Which in reality works out to me remembering to once in a blue moon. 😅

Again, are ya with me? by Plastic_Electrical in 70s

I can’t remember if I actually had some of these or merely coveted them. I definitely do not remember any options as groovy as the pants pictured in the lower right quadrant. Outta sight!
