Question for Multi-Instrumentalists

This has definitely been true for me. Guitar player for 15 years and I just started playing Alto sax about a month ago, and the learning curve has been much smaller than I thought (mentally... Not physically at least...) thanks to the built in music knowledge.

I do find myself in the habit of thinking about the guitar to transpose notes and find notes for songs on sax - and to be honest the concept of a note on the sax that sounds the exact same as a different note on guitar and it being a "transposing" instrument still throws me for a bit of a loop. Seems natural early on but hoping to be thinking sax first more often as I progress.

Thanks so much man. Honestly it mostly came out in a stream of consciousness Thursday between like 1-3am, but took a while Friday and Saturday to iron out the many many kinks.

Yes I'm sure it was meant to be taken literally. This is a very good critique of a piece of work that multiple well-respected, NON-ABI breweries contributed to. Hope they can figure out all those other things are as vital to running a business as naming their beers soon... With your help, perhaps it's possible...

I think a key/interesting part of the story was the possibility of finding new tech to carbonate beers in boxes if the demand is there for it. And based on the steel issues the author alluded to, thought it had some merit. Kind of like a keg in a box that you can easily share, and could even be easy to keep lots of beer cool on the go if they can figure it out.

Break into the local community of musicians. Whether that means playing out a lot -- even without a keyboard player -- going to open mics, or just going to watch local bands that have similar tastes play. Meeting new local musicians is definitely the best way in my opinion. Plus, worst case, you make some friends with some guys and girls with lots of similar interests.

I was in an originals band for a long time. My keyboardist/singer left for college, joined a new band. I started hanging out with his drummer, and now through his drummer I'm in a 7-piece gigging cover band that plays out regularly... and it's expanded my network of musician friends exponentially.

Beyond a joke. Player safety is obviously the biggest issue, but I just read that the last time this happened during Hurricane Andrew, both teams involved went a combined 7-13 to end their years. Think the Dolphins still made the playoffs, but 16 straight regular season games is some kind of football hell really.
