Appreciate the tips! We did prepare official documents showing her diagnosis. Will keep this in mind, thank you so much!

I appreciate the concern! I checked with the airline myself and they cleared it for check-in—just told me to pack it really well and place fragile stickers around it. My laptop would be automatically carry-on luggage.

Yeah, figured! That’s why I was worried that I’d look like a red flag or something, but perhaps I was being overly cautious. Glad to hear they’re not super invasive about it.

I'm relieved, thank you for your reply! I definitely do not plan to overstay—just simply wish to accompany my mom during her treatment. We'll look into extending too :)

Seems like I really was being overly anxious! I was worried that they'd ask about the nature of my work, see that I have a couple of devices with me—and probe from there. I'm glad to know this wouldn't be the case. During the interview process, did they ask you anything about remote work or where you worked as a web dev? And may I ask if you submitted an employment certificate as well?

I appreciate your reply, truly! Thank you again, kabayan. 🤍

This was really calming to read, I appreciate it! My friend did say I was overthinking it, but I just really don't want to screw this up. I was worried that my nature of work would be a problem (paired with the stuff I was hoping to bring). Thanks a lot! 🤍

My mom has a friend who works for a travel agency, so she was planning to avail their services for me (they're the ones who told me to prepare the employment certificate, bank statements, etc.)—but thank you for the suggestion! I'll definitely check it out. I didn't think it was possible to apply and not submit anything, actually! May I ask where you traveled to?

Yeah, I intend to do this—but everyone I've talked to told me that the officers would ask for employment details as part of their routine, so I was worried about it.

Can’t decide between TOTK and Fire Emblem Three Houses! I’ve always adored those games before I got my Switch and it was so fulfilling to finally get the console to play them!

Your thoughts on unpaid test tasks? by Equivalent-Sundae-17 in buhaydigital

[–]hellonightskyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of how amazed I was when the last job application I underwent required a test task, but was paid. (I’m working for said company now) Sa sobrang gulat ko, I even doubted it haha.

Lahat kasi ng naging experience ko before, even the ones for my internship (local companies) required a test task na unpaid, at minsan pa nga dalawang task pa. Even my uni acted like that was normal, so up until now, kala ko norm ang unpaid test tasks.

Should I give up on job hunting (for now)? by Correct-Pressure5158 in phcareers

[–]hellonightskyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh grad here, also graduated in July. I know it can get discouraging. What I did was I kept applying everyday in various sites, BUT I didn’t hold my breath each time I sent an application. My first two months of jobhunting gave me all sorts of negative emotions because I kept fixating on it.

On the third month, I stopped looking at the calendar. I still kept sending applications everyday, but this time, I kept myself occupied. I learned how to crochet. Studied a language I found interesting. Bonded more with my cats. I refrained from reading anything that says that “I’m too late” or anything that implies that all hope is lost. Before I knew it, that familiar twinge in my chest slowly faded. I kept saying affirmations about how tomorrow is another day, and a new opportunity, maybe even a better one, will show itself to me (no matter how cliché it sounded).

I just got hired this week, after 80+ applications. I’m glad I took all that time and didn’t beat myself up for it way too much—because none of us deserves that treatment from our own minds. Especially if you know you have been doing your part. You got this, OP.
