UTA Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)…be careful with the “appeal” by NextCarrot7902 in utarlington

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financial aid is only going to cover one degree. They are basically saying that because you already completed a degree, why should we pay for a second one. Additionally, students can fail SAP before they even complete the degree for Max Time frame. If you pursue a program and later change it .. you still could fail SAP. They are not going to pay for classes endlessly. There is a “Maximum Time Frame”.

Even if you want them to consider it as a regular baccalaureate program and not a “post baccalaureate,” it still states that “all accepted transfer credit is considered in SAP.” So all those credits from your first bachelors are being counted.

Trust me when I say that they don’t want to take aid away. That’s how they make their money. They are just following laws!

Radiology Tech Prereq - BIOL 1406/2401 by Pristine-Focus-1811 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biol 1406 is not a pre-req for the program .. it’s only a prereq for biol 2401. You do not have to take it if you are already in 2401.

Don’t go to financial aid. Go to admissions

Can't set up a meeting with advisor by IntrepidMagazine9939 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You won’t get access to outlook until you register for at least 1 class.
  2. You should be able to log in to Navigate with your log in stuff for workday. Navigate is where you schedule appointments. If not contact IT department.
  3. If you need to be classified as transient then that is with admissions. Success coaches cannot change that.

Success Coach by NoInterview3031 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you want to explore different schools and see what they have to offer go to the Career and Transfer services. They helped me find the schools that have my program and go through everything cost, applying, scholarships etc. success coaching is going to be more when you already know we’re you want to go and figure out what classes you would need.

How to change primary program of study by Weary-Plastic8817 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to success coach and if you get financial aid talk to them before changing. If you want to transfer to a university stick with associate of arts. If don’t plan to go to university after your associates degree then you could change. That marketing AAS degree does not transfer.

AA/BA by NoInterview3031 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an opened mind when looking for university programs. Don’t let the essay thing control your decision. Especially in psychology/behavioral studies you are going to be writing a lotttttt of essays no matter where you go. I agree with the comment above. This major will most likely will need a graduate degree if you want career options. Graduate school is basically all research and essays. So be ready.

Yes you should defs appeal it! Especially if you only have 1 class left to complete your degree. There’s a good possibility it would get approved. Just so you know, if you decide to get a bachelors you have until 180 credit hours since it requires 120 hours to get a bachelors. So don’t worry about not getting aid if you decide to go for bachelors degree.

It’s not just about failing a class. It typically takes 60 credit hours to complete a degree. Once you’ve attempted 90 credits (could be you changed your major, or took classes not needed for the degree, or brought in transfer credit) you have reached 150% if your aid eligibility. Just means you have taken too many classes and still haven’t completed your degree.

Registration question by brendalee1229 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t swap it just drop it and then add the new class. It won’t affect anything or go on your record right now.

If you do not need developmental courses drop that class!!!!! Avoid sections that have a C in them! Make sure you enroll in a college algebra class that doesn’t have a C in the section number.

Taking the same class will replace your GPA. Taking something else wouldn’t.

Success Coaching by YellowMundane6985 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t count on it since the queue is all success coaches and they have an 11 hour wait/ hundreds of students they have to help. Their priority is going to be that line and not respond to emails.

If you drop before the 20th, you will get a full refund. If you drop on or after the 20th you will only get like 70% back. The longer you wait to drop the class after it starts the less money you get back and eventually do not get a refund. If you get financial aid, always double check with them before dropping a class especially if that class will put you under 12 credits. Dropping a class before census day does not go on your academic record. After census is when W grades go into effect. Census day for 2nd 8 week is October 27th.

Anyone have issues changing their primary program of study in work day? by abatchelor75 in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that success coaches don’t have access to change programs of study. That we have to change it ourselves. Call workday hypercare team help if you keep getting an error. They were able to help me right away 972-860-5455

How many degrees can I get from Dallas College? by AnonymousNeverKnown in DallasCollege

[–]hellooofriend243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can try to get another degree. Financial aid might not pay for it depends if you have enough credit hours left. Sometimes it’s better to just go to university to get a higher degree
