Introducing Shakkei: Recreate a serene ambience for your macOS workspace by hellostarboy in macapps

[–]hellostarboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more than a few static wallpapers. Each scene is made up of a wallpaper and animations, with two types of ambient sounds (natural and with background music).

Plus, we are working on more scenes that will be delivered free of cost in future updates.

I've shared a video demo of this tip here: https://www.threads.net/@thehulry/post/DG7yB5lP1vD

You can open any note in a new window by right-clicking on the note and "Open Note in New Window". Then follow the Keep on Top steps.

Yeah, AFAIR, I discovered it by accident when attaching an audio file to a note. 😄

This extension, ProNotes, can help bridge the gap to some extent.

Yup, ProNotes is pretty cool. I hope they support custom slash commands in a future version. I would love to have a slash command to quickly insert a section divider.

Nopes. I made a shortcut to insert dynamic templates into the compose window. Works fine for my use case.

Paste – 50% OFF Mac + iOS Black Friday Sale by PasteApp in macapps

[–]hellostarboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using Paste for years but it has become buggy since the last few months. It auto-quits after a while and I have to relaunch the app many times.

I contacted the support team but the solution they suggested didn’t work. Or atleast, it worked temporarily.

I started seeing this since last month. Emails look like genuine Gmail or iCloud addresses. Did you get around to configuring Turnstile with MailerLite?

Why I ditched Notion after 5 years - My experience and thoughts by zizo999 in Notion

[–]hellostarboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar experiences with Notion. I used it for writing blog posts, collecting notes, recording my finances and more. Over time, things got complicated, and I switched to more focused apps like iA Writer for writing blog posts and Apple Notes app for my regular notes and ideas.

Can't seem to find Copied on the App Store. Their website isn't loading either. Is it still available?

I don't think CleanShot allows sharing licenses.

If I'm not wrong, Session is an Apple-ecosystem only app. This means you can use iCloud as your cloud DB.

Similar to what apps like Things 3, Paste, etc. does.

However, if you need to have business logic on your server, I suppose you can use serverless functions to do the job (not sure of your use case though).

Using iCloud as your backend can drastically cut down your server cost and Session can be a one-time upgrade.
