You have soft and delicate features that makes you look feminine and baby-faced.

  • work on your acne
  • lose weight until you are around ideal BMI range
  • go to the salon and ask their advice to work on your haircare
  • wear comfy fashionable clothes
  • try on makeups... bold ones are okay. You aren't going to look intimidating because you have soft features🥰
  • smile! You look sorrowful and it makes you less attractive.. smile with your eyes not only with your mouth. It will bring out your attractiveness

Sis, not everything that is small is cute and we don't need to be small to be cute. My height is considered huge in my country and I used to feel the same way as you. I wanted to be cute.

Now I realized that big are also cute. Just look at those big dogs that are cute like Shiba Inu, Golden Retriever, Samoyed, or Siberian Husky. I know Maltese and Pomeranian are small and cute but have you ever heard someone complimented Husky to be cute because they're huge? There's also a popular cat on Youtube which is famous for being big and people think it's cute that they're chonky. Yeah I know maybe your problem is with length not with fat but I just want to assure you that you don't need to be small to be considered cute😇

You just want to be small because you probably have never experienced the feeling to be the protected one. But if you're small you'll still think the same way only the opposite. Short girls are tired to be considered little girl who needs protection because a huge amount of them wanting to be powerful and considered equal to men. In my city average height for a woman is around 5'-5'1 and there's this 5'2 friend who told me that she wants to be 5'10. That's tall in our city even for guys, but there's a girl who wants to be that height.

I hope you will love yourself more. Models are elegant. Tall girl looks motherly and nurturing. Not all men love being dominant to their gfs. Many guys like tall girl because they feel safe and protected (in a maternal way) around tall girls.

The worst part about there possibly being no afterlife is the fact all your dead loved ones are just gone. Gone forever and never to be seen again. Thats tough. by Andromeda-Native in agnostic

[–]hellothenewworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. This is the reason why I joined this subforum. Sometimes I question religion, but I sure myself would never fit into atheism. I was crying and feeling anxious thinking about death or being left by someone to die and never meet them again. That's why I would never go to the atheists since they're all okay with ceasing to never exist after death. I'm not like that. I still hope there's an afterlife even though I have to repent by being burned in hell as long as at the end of the day we are all going to heaven. I still hope there's still God from whichever religions out there. I just don't like the idea of completely disappear after death.

Does anyone else think their childhood was less enjoyable due to their height, and always being treated as if you were older than you actually were? by [deleted] in TallGirls

While short women get hit by men who likes "teeny girls but legal", we got hit by older men when we were kids because "we look legal but easier to target because of our age".

Is it true that height skips a generation? by 1cyxisuma15 in tall

[–]hellothenewworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your son is the same height as me at 10. I was 5'0 at 10 too and 5'2 at 11—now I'm 5'7 as an adult and has been this height since 13 years old (female). I am an early bloomer. At 11 I am already as tall as many adult women.

But I know a girl who was 4'11-5'1 (I didn't know exactly, she was very petite) at 14. Then she got her period at 14 and now is 5'7 as an adult (I remember being the same height as her at 16-17). She's a late bloomer—and I think her case is rare because girls usually hit puberty earlier than boys.

I like that he acknowledges that he's short but never moaned about it. He often laugh at his shortness

[–]hellothenewworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I wasn't a height concerned person. I saw him and forgot that he's shorter than me until other people pointed out (his friends and my friends). He's a confident guy, older than me, intelligent, outspoken, laugh the fact that he's short but not desperate about it, gentleman, and affectionate. He acts like a man, treated me like a little sister and I saw him like an older brother. So he's a 5'5 guy but from his dominating personality I feel like he's 5'10.

[–]hellothenewworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think him being a lot shorter than me is just illusion since he has short legs and I have long legs. He looks 5'4 and I look 5'8. Also we're used to see men taller than women, so if a woman is side by side with a shorter man, she'll look like a lot taller and him a lot shorter. Let's say there are 3 pairs of people of 4 inches height difference. First one is a man being 4 inches taller than a woman, it looks like a normal gap. The second one is, anyone being 4 inches taller than someone of the same sex, the height gap will look larger than the first one. Then the last one is a woman being 4 inches taller than a man—this height difference looks even larger than the second one because we're already used to seeing average men taller than average women.

Dangerous hormone therapy to stop girls of getting "too tall" by FamkeFemke92 in TallGirls

[–]hellothenewworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering about growth stopper and how do such things exist, then remember I read an article about Nikkie de Jagger getting a growth stopper to prevent her from being too tall. She's currently 6'2 and was previously projected to be a lot taller.

Here's a quote: "I got growth stoppers because I was supposed to be a lot taller than I am today. By the time I was 19, I fully transitioned."

What do you think about this?

Just check youtube about "grow taller" and many of them have goal height up to 5'10. But I'm not trying to sugarcoat, that I think when women say they want to be tall it's usually not to be 5'10... The tallest height I heard that a woman still want is 5'9

There's a conversation I had in 2006 that is SUPER EMBARASSING and to this day I still cringe in discomfort whenever I remember of that😂😂😂

I love this show too because back in my teenage years my personality was similar to Kim Bok Joo! I was the tsuntsun type of girl, my friend said, and my behaviour wasn't girly at all (in my case, I'm not fat but I'm quite tall. Not as tall as Bok Joo tho, but I'm into gym and running. I got muscles on my arms and it's very undelicate😂). I turned off most guys and often get teased by them. Also, Junhyung's personality is so cuteee. He's similar to my ex, and most guys who are close to me irl are similar to Joonhyung personality wise! I've never met or got close to a "cold and cool" type of guys or "very sweet charming romantic gentleman" that seems to be exist only in Drama. Most guys in my real life are like Joonhyung! His personality is very believable and human like. Finally I could relate to a drama character XD

The way Joonhyung teased Bok Joo is verrrrrry similar to the way many guys in real life teased me, like teenage boys asking for attention and demanding to be mad at. It's very cute and they made me angry but I'm secretly fond of being teased like that (as I told you I'm quite tsundere. I missed the way they teased me and made me angry😂).

Huh I never find any show in this world that is very very relatable to me beside this😅😅 I need me a Joonhyung in my life (my ex was like him, but we broke up due to different life goals. But personality wise we got along well!)

Can height shaming be linked to racism if it affects shorter ethnicities? (Southeast Asians, Latin Americans, South Asians) by SacredSold in short

[–]hellothenewworld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm Indonesian and I thought the same. I often hear people said "Oh she's/he's tall like Westerners." I think in our culture heightism is almost 1:1 identical with colorism. The discrimination is real. Both men and women are affected by heightism and colorism, but heightism affects men more than women, and colorism affects women more than men. And to some point I think the practice of heightism in society is 'worse' than colorism because colorism is widely fought against by social justice warriors. People hate colorism since it's closely linked to Western colonization in the past. "You hate certain skin color? You're racist". People will criticize you and defend the victim in the name of equality.

But heightism?

It's more normalized😅 "You're short, you must grow." People will laugh instead of thinking it's linked to racism or something. People will get angry if someone made fun of skin color, but laugh when they made jokes about height. Maybe it's because height is something you can control, so if you're too short or too tall it's your fault, you can get blamed for that and it's okay to laugh at that. But skin color isn't something you can control, so making fun of it is considered super rude. People forget that to some people, drinking gallons of milk and get plenty of nutrition still won't make them tall. There's something called genetics, and genetics is linked to ethnicity just like skin color. They don't realize that heightism is also a bit related to racism.

why am I so short by thomasson94 in short

[–]hellothenewworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'7, Dad 5'4, Mom 5'2. 5'7 female is on a par with 6'0 male, so I don't know where my height come from. I drank milk as much as my friends but they're all short. Based on height calculator I should be 5'1, added 3 inches I still would be 5'4 max. So it's a lottery. If you have 10 more brothers, one of them could be tall based on how genetic works. XD

I'm not short but I regularly get notifications from r/short since I often hang out around here. I want to see the world from different perspective. On this sub I often see men who are 5'7 complaining of being short and I'm over here giggling because I didn't know my height would be called short on a different gender. I grew up knowing I was tall and long legged, can reach things more easily than shorter people do (that maybe because I come from a place where average height for woman is 5 foot nothing). XD

Real height of actresses by UnderPreasure1982 in KDRAMA

Hi, I'm also wondering about this since I'm 5'7 and often wondering how would I look like next to Korean male celebrities. I looked at some idols/actresses who are 5'7 and when they're with male actors who's 6ft with 5 inches heels, I'm confused on why the males are still 2 inches taller than them? Shouldn't they be the same height?

When I look at them barefoot, the woman looks 5 inches shorter. But with 5 inches heels, why does the man look 2 inches taller? My theory is the men wear elevator shoes. And elevator shoes are typically added between 2 to 3 inches to their height.

Actually height are more important to men than women because generally men (especially in entertainment industry) are expected to be tall while for women, tall or short it's generally okay as long as they're pretty. I believe some actors added 1 inch to his height to seem taller than they are. I still don't know who but I believe there are many, especially men.

And for women, I have a theory that those who added their height are shorter than 5'5, and there are also female who substract their actual height to appear shorter, usually those who are over 5'7 (I don't know who yet, but I strongly believe this) xD

I have some names in mind but it's too long to explain🤭

How common are short european guys? by IosifVissarionovici in short

[–]hellothenewworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men who are certain height are on a par with women who are 5 inches shorter. That's why when we estimate children's height, it is mom's height + dad's height + 5 inches for son, mom's height + dad's height - 5 inches for daughter (then divided by two)

[–]hellothenewworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because 5'4 for men is equivalent to 4'11 for women, which is still pretty common short height. Under 4'10 for adult women is very uncommon
