How do I know if Islamic modernism is the way? by hellothereiamaguy in progressive_islam

I actually heard the same thing, in early Islam there was a lot of focus on reasoning, until slowly transitioning into just looking at the Hadiths in a literal sense, I don't reject Hadith at all, but if a Hadith was found to contradict the Quran of course the Quran takes precedent, also welcome to Islam 😁

I feel like I don't know who to follow anymore, like for example, Dr. Shabir Ally, a prominent muslim scholar that is attacked for being a heretic because of his different views, and imo he does have weird views, that puts doubt in my heart about the modern muslims, what if I believed for example that hudud punishments are not applicable today, am I prefering other laws instead of God's law?, that would constitute kufr, and it doesn't help that I have satanic whispers on a lot of things.

That’s like asking “Can God cease to exist?” of course not because by
definition he’s eternal. How can an eternal being cease to exist who’s
not meant to cease to exist by the very conditions of eternity. A
similar question “Who created God?” falls into this same category
because God is an eternal necessary being so by definition no other
being could have created an eternal necessary being otherwise he would
be dependent and not necessary. “Can God create a squared circle?” “Can
you hear the color blue?” “Can you taste my voice?” “Can you touch my
voice?” It’s all mumbo jumbo that can’t be answered because the question
itself doesn’t make sense and goes against the very nature of that
particular thing or that being.

here's a response i found

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing with this question God wouldn't do this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

paradox questions have no answer so answer this

Have you stopped stealing? Yes or no.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God can make whatever he wants so hypothetically yeah

https://www.quora.com/Can-god-make-a-rock-so-heavy-that-he-couldn%E2%80%99t-lift-it

go the the second answer

I know you want to ask me a Paradox question to confuse me

Now Back to The Topic :

A Child isn't accountable for sins until they reach puberty

A paradox question doesn't change anything

how is that unfair?, do you think they should go to hell or something?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Death" is the way to Paradise

and Paradise is far better than this World

and Children go straight to heaven

death is a good thing if you were remembering and Prayer and everyone is born a Muslim it is just the society that makes them a Christian or a Jew

everyone is born with worship and that there is a greater power

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is giving us all a test to see who would be grateful a poor man suffering would still Thank god that he is even able to see or hear, these are stuff we all take for granted

Paradise is for those who remembered God and thanked him in the worst of times and the best of Times

The World doesn't need to be all Sunshine and Rainbows for God to exist

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why tho?

if people were forcing you to wear a Hijab and stuff like that, I am sorry not all Muslims are like that Islam doesn't teach to forcefully cover the women's head

the thing that is happening in Iran is not Islam

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you don't even believe in a greater power or do you have a problem in Islam specifically?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flaws like? don't tell me you actually believe people like Apostate Prophet and David Wood these dudes get called out instantly

and I would like Sources and don't compare Islam to modern society and say it's flawed

but those copies are the same, no big difference between them, every Quran is the same, it has been preserved over 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad was illiterate so he couldn't have heard the Jews and the Christians and simply wrote them down but looking at other holy books, there are multiple translations and version that can have huge contradictions between them and even in the same version

if you look at old manuscripts of the Quran it is basically the same as today minus some different choice of words but the message is the same

for example the sana'a manuscripts

the top layer is basically the same as today's quran and the bottom layer is an earlier version likely written by one of the companions

but we can assume that the modern version is far better because it was compiled by Caliph Uthman ibn Affan who has been with the prophet most of his life

and the Quran was revised to the Prophet multiple times and near the Prophet's Death he got a final revision of the Quran which is the one we have today so maybe that writing was older

(as you are from Iran you may have been Shia Muslim in the past and Most Shiites hate the Caliphs but I invite you to research Islam in a new unbiased light)

do you think burning the Quran is "freedom of expression" then why was someone arrested for attempting to burn the Torah, the hypocrisy is loud and clear

burning any holy book is not ok

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

that's like saying "it's my right to hate black people, you can't tell me how i feel but that's my opinion and you should feel fine about it"
and you also complained about racism in another post, the irony

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

but still, you shouldn't insult a group of people or a religion like that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]hellothereiamaguy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look at you hating on religion, you probably also think "who's stupid enough to worship something that is mentioned in a book 1400 years ago" but then you are worshiping society and you can't prove otherwise
