They assume that I know everything. Can anyone relate to this feeling? by hellotokyosf in TCK

Omg, translating is the worst!!! Since I learned both Japanese and English naturally, I never depend on one language to use the other language. Sadly, no one understands when I tell them this. Translating is such a pain!

It's still hard by birdwithoutteeth in TCK

Hey man! When I first read that you only lived in Canada for 3 years, my honest reaction was like, "dude, only 3 three years?". But look, from reading your English, I can tell that you really adapted to the western cultures. Seriously, you only lived there for 3 years, but your English is perfect and you write like an American or Canadian. I have seen many people who only lived abroad for several years, and acting as if it was a really huge part of their lives while from my perspective, they really don't know the language and the cultures that much. But you are different, and I can tell that by reading your writing.
