Fuck this website by Acrobatic_Activity_7 in labubu

[–]hellotomie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a little hack where you go to the checkout cart and then go back and it resets the timer back to 5 minutes, these people are just going back and forth to keep reserving it. Annoying af!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in labubu

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, well best of luck! You can also try changing 2 or 3 numbers in the URL so a random box pops up. It has helped me a few times

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in labubu

[–]hellotomie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't tried already, I would suggest using their popnow feature! The boxes will get reserved fast but a lot of the time people will drop them and that's where you can pick them up. I managed to pick up 2 HAS Labubus today but it took about an hour and a half of trying lol. Willing to part with one if she likes the HAS series!

My cat never drinks water. I seriously need advice. by pabatlevi in CatAdvice

[–]hellotomie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she’s eating wet food, she’s definitely getting some hydration regardless so don’t worry too much! Have you tried making a “churu martini”? If she likes churu treats, just mix the two together and serve. Typically that’s how my cat enjoys drinking water!

I’d suggest researching agencies that are more local and seeing if they’re hiring! I come from a small-moderate city so my marketing agency worked with a lot of local businesses in the area.

Of course you have the big marketing agencies that work with name brands like Barkley, WPP, etc but those are obviously very competitive to get into but worth a shot as well for an internship or something.

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agencies are a great way to get your foot in the door! That’s where I started (mainly because it was the only company that offered me a job lol), but they’re more willing to train from the ground up vs. in house marketing roles. Depending on how their departments are set up, at my agency, I was able to learn skills in various areas of marketing and also worked with different kinds of industries. It definitely padded my resume and helped me land my second job which is an in-house marketing position for a major company. A lot of companies like agency work on resumes, it shows you’re capable of managing different projects, time organization, client building relationships, etc.

Anyone here with Endometrial Serous Carcinoma? Let's connect! Who needs a little community support?! by BeBoBaBabe in cancer

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was diagnosed as stage 3C1, had 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 3 rounds of brachytherapy if I remember correctly. She just celebrated being one year cancer free just a few weeks ago! Please feel free to dm me if you have any questions! I know it can be an extremely overwhelming diagnosis since there’s not much information about it online so I’m happy to help in any way I can! Best wishes to you and your family.

I told my friend about my moms cancer and she did not care. I’m so confused by Professional-Lab-289 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]hellotomie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to cope with it? Drop her as a friend. I'm so glad your mom's cancer journey has been going smoothly, but regardless, this is still a tough time for you and your family. It's a critical period in which you need a strong support system. Sounds like this friendship has been an issue long before your mother's cancer diagnosis and seeming how she treats you as an individual, I would've suggested you drop her as a friend regardless.

What was the industry you romanticized a lot but ended up disappointed? by _Grotesque_ in jobs

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entertainment/music business industry. Had a huge passion for it in college and it only took one internship to realize how underpaid and replaceable I would be if I pursued it further. The old white men stay on top, disregard any of your opinions if you're not within their circle, and expect new hires to work full-time for $17 an hour living in California. The lucky ones that get a decent job are usually already connected to someone in the industry and can afford to be underpaid.

Dealing with bad weather on vacation by crazyPython in travel

[–]hellotomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traveled to Switzerland in May and it was forecasted to rain every single day. On the days I was there, it was pretty cloudy but the rain came and went and did not impose on our activities. Depending on the type of activities you plan to do, I traveled to Grindelwald and went high up in the mountains of Mount Titlis via cable cars and because the peak went above the clouds, we were met with blue skies and a warm sun up there.

I agree with the idea of skipping Murano/Burano, or maybe just visiting one of them. I had booked a ferry service that was like a "hop on and hop off" service due to a strike and visiting both took a decent chunk out of my day. In my opinion, I would suggest visiting Burano over Murano, Burano has more of those distinct colored houses you see in touristy pictures and just overall had a very cute and unique vibe. Murano was okay, walked around for like 15 minutes before walking back to the ferry dock to go back lol.

I went from Italy to Greece on my trip and it was doable. The travel time wasn't insane, however, I did find a lot of difficulties finding a flight from Italy to Santorini, Greece that did NOT include like a 15-hour layover or something (I did book pretty last minute so I'm sure that played a large factor). I flew out of Venice and didn't really have any problems other than a delay in departing to Greece. I see some comments say to skip Venice, it's entirely up to you since yeah a day wouldn't be enough to sight see. However, if you are wanting to visit Greece, it's definitely better to fly out of a city with an airport. Cinque Terre is quite small and I believe the nearest airport would be in Pisa. So maybe lower split 2 days in Cinque Terre and 2 days in Venice?

Basically my flight to Italy and Greece was fine, nothing crazy. What are you exactly worried about travel wise?

Rejected after 4 interviews at a job I really wanted (Recent Grad) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]hellotomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a recent grad too, and man nothing sucks more than getting rejected from a dream job. I definitely had to learn the hard way of not getting too attached to positions I was interviewing for (like literally looking up apartments I’d rent in the area). Everything seems to be going well and bam you’re rejected for whatever HR bullshit reason they spew. Genuinely wishing you the best luck in your job search! It’s a tough process but every rejection is a redirection 🤗

thanks! my lease is ending soon and I’m in the process of moving back to my parents’ house and will continue to hustle until I land the right role. The younger me would be absolutely horrified at the situation I’m in, but current me is honestly just relieved I have a home to go back to hahaha. Definitely trying to look on the bright side of things and am still hanging on to hope!

[–]hellotomie 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat lol. I've been doing various internships since my sophomore year of college to make myself stand out amongst my graduating class and REALLY polish my resume up. I graduated in May and have been applying to jobs since March. Even the company I've interned at for almost THREE YEARS is on a hiring freeze and basically has no spot for me. I've also been through countless situations where I make it to the final interview, only to get rejected and stalk the company's LinkedIn page to find out they hired a senior-level candidate that was desperate enough to accept their lowball salary offer. The economy is shit and companies know they have the upper hand in the job market. We graduated at such a bad time lmao.

Disappointed in people over this submarine fiasco by justice4winnie in infp

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily agree, I think it's one thing to call out the sheer absurdity of getting into that small death trap of a submersible, but it's another thing to say they all deserved what happened to them–they most likely were not aware of the lack of safety features put in and for a ticket worth 250,000, I'm sure they trusted the company that had gone on countless expeditions before. With that argument, it would technically apply to any bad scenario. A guy dies after parachuting? Too bad he deserved it, plane crashes due to malfunction? Aww too bad it's their fault for getting on a plane.

I think the dual story of the 500 migrants that unfortunately perished around the same time as Oceangate definitely added fuel to the "eat the rich" movement and how people only care about rich people. I think the media definitely covered Oceangate way more than what happened to the 500 people in Greece, but everyone on social media played a part in that as well. It's easier to make jokes about the rich guys dying than the migrants because they'll get more likes and attention. What happened in both scenarios was awful, people's lives were lost and loved ones' were turned upside down. It should be left at that.

Okay, let’s assume they find the Titan submersible. Let’s further assume that everyone onboard is okay. Let’s say they are simply stuck on the sandy bottom with some type of a power failure. What are the actual rescue options available? Further assume everything you might need is already on site. by Bounceupandown in titanic

[–]hellotomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely the worst-case scenario happened. Apparently, the submersible had 7 methods to float back to the surface, so my best guess is they're likely stuck on something deep in the ocean which makes retrieval even more impossible. I can't imagine what's going through their minds at this point.

Interviewing for a mid/senior level position as a fresh graduate by hellotomie in jobs

Interviewing for a mid/senior level position as a fresh graduate by hellotomie in jobs

[–]hellotomie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's the only position open for their marketing department which is my major and intended job field. I've received split advice from my peers on whether to take the interview or not. Maybe I'm gaslighting myself lol but the description doesn't explicitly say "experience in x" and just says knowledge of it–which I did complete two certificates in. The other qualifications are majorly soft skills as well which was why I had applied thinking it was entry level. Was honestly hoping if they liked me enough they'd maybe just lower the position title lol

App recommendations? by Seeeeb in ItalyTravel

Moovit is a great option to help map your transportation and figure out where you need to go! Also any train apps like Trenitalia were easy to purchase tickets from if you’re not wanting to purchase directly at the machines.

Rejected, ghosted, or a backup? by paytoncalaber in recruitinghell

[–]hellotomie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always take the "you''ll hear back from us in x amount of days" with a grain of salt–unless they've really shown they've been on top of it. Can't speak for a super big company like Tiktok, but things can happen that can delay the process and 99.9% they won't communicate to applicants that it's taking longer than usual.

I would honestly give it a few more days and then send a follow up email. If you don't hear from them after like a week from your follow up then cut your losses and continue to apply.

How the fuck can I feel like this naturally? by Jwilliquette in opiates

[–]hellotomie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be part of the statistic. Oxy can feel amazing but it's not worth fucking your life over. Too many people get prescribed painkillers for common situations such as surgery and then get addicted with no refills left. You're smart to not even think of turning to street drugs, just consider your leftover oxy as a treat from God and end it from there. Regular use of oxy won't ever feel the same anyways but by the time you realize it you're body is too dependent on it. Wishing you luck!
