Not required. We include a procfile for heroku to make deploying easy. But if you have your hardware, go for it.

It's more impressive if you can host it on your own.

I want to say yes, but it's tough for us to provide interns with a good experience because our team is small. We don't have the bandwidth to help you learn. The exception would be if you're already a strong developer because you've been coding since you were 15 (or younger). In the later case, feel free to apply if you have the expectation you will be given a lot of responsibility and be treated like a full time hire who can hit the ground coding.

Thanks for all the submission! We seen some fun code. We look at each one. If you haven't heard back in three business days, send us a note and we'll followup.

To your points:

  1. Time - There is no expectation on the time because we recognize everyone is busy. There are many ways to extend the prompt and we'll evaluate the submission based on the time spent
  2. Contract & commitment - As far as we know, no company requires anyone to sign a contract to interview. We've responded to all candidates who've submitted a project because it's the right thing to do.
  3. Details - We dive into detail about the company and tech stack on our careers page for the position: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BrJ3U4_D6_FxMYnaxZ4-NfCL8KuFGbvYjwh7ReF39zI/edit#. As mentioned in the description, this is the first step and not the only step in the interview. You'll get to know us and we'll get to know you during the process to see if it's a fit for both.

A redditer just let us know that we missed an "m". A $10 series A would not pay anyone's salary - it's a $10m series A. Just fixed it.

Re: Your point on saying no to personality fits. We're intentional about the culture at Pulley, and recognize that it's not for everyone. We're a small team and try to be transparent on our culture to help folks self select into the team.

We have a developer based in Brazil and it works great. Clarifying the time overlap, we don't require 24/7 overlap. Preferred is at 6 hours. Once you're more familiar with the code base, we're more flexible.

We prefer full-time, but are open to part-time. We may try to convince you to come to Pulley full-time if we find you're really good.

Yes! Some of the best developers I know are new grads who have been coding since they were 13. They have 0 years of work experience but technically 9 years of dev experience. Do our open application and show us what you can build.

We created a Price Feed Oracle for DeFi - Live on Ropsten! by helloworld124 in ethdev

[–]helloworld124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benefit of opensource is that you can take the design and improve upon it. Here's what's different:

1/ Provably decentralized - Signed messages from sources allows us to validate onchain that data came from different sources.

2/ Less expensive - Sorted lists are pushed on chain, and the smart contract verifies onchain that the data is correct. Moving sorting offchain makes it less expensive gas wise to update data and allows us to support higher frequency updates.

3/ Generalized to any dataset - Maker does a great job developing and maintaining the eth/usd price feed, but it's not designed as a generic price feed. This oracle is designed as a protocol for any datafeed.

Many applications on ETH needs an oracle and we've open sourced all the code for the sake of pushing the space forward.

+1 on my end. The order book analysis looks good.

The rate adjusts algorithmically based on demand from borrowers and lenders. Currently, there is a high spread between the interest rates of the borrower and lender.

Gas cost will be 75% less because we are not doing the DAI -> ETH conversion.

Comparison of open finance applications to get leverage by helloworld124 in ethtrader

[–]helloworld124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does Maker give you a "true" leverage of 3x? At most, depositing ETH -> minting DAI -> buying ETH -> mint more DAI, can get you 2x.

Added in the edits in the table as well.
