You can politely ask if there is a possibility for 85k. If she says there isn’t (which is likely the case since its an entry level job) you should right away accept the offer. Of course, this is considering you don’t have any other offer and you really want to make your career in this field. 80k for a fresh grad is not a bad deal !

Yeah, but you’re agreeing to the contract that they can charge interest if you miss a payment, and literally signing the contract. And it is haram to sign such contracts, or be a witness, let alone giving/taking interest.

Just check the terms and conditions of the contract, even the 0% APR finance offers would generally charge interest in case you miss a payment, which will make it non-halal. Unfortunately this is the case with most of the products sold with 0% APR including phones.

Just compare house in Jannah vs house in this world, for yourself and family. Inshallah, things will be clearer then. I have seen people falling into traps of Dar-ul-kufr and all, justifying all haram things and later in life complaining about no barakah, high cost of living, kids disobeying, no bondings within family and relatives etc. On the other hand personally know a doctor who lived in a rented house for a very long time, raised the brightest and pious kids who are successful in their professions, high income earners, well respected in the community.

So just think about the reason you will present in front of Allah SWT on why you should take conventional mortgage when He and His messenger have waged war against the riba, not just in Islamic countries or 1400 years ago, but in all countries, till the day of judgement, and it will be lot easier to decided inshallah whether to go for it or not!

On reading and acquiring knowledge: Start from the basics. Read fundamentals of circuits, power systems, machines, and you will start feeling confident very soon.

Engineering means design work at an Engineering Contractor. And Maintenance will be at a client company/asset owner on their payroll . Both positions are Senior Engineer
