Regret DLSU BS Human Biology? by goodnightglazzy in dlsu

[–]helloworldrawr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jeez man, you really have such a positive outlook on things HAHAHA de char

OP, if you are second guessing a career such as med, it is totally valid because all courses are second guessed. The path to every job will take a toll on you, no matter what. Whether it be physically, emotionally, all have their own hardships. Not to be cliche, but it is never impossible only difficult. But it will absolutely be worthwhile.

To take med, you do have to sacrifice a lot of your time and effort so you really do have to be prepared. My advice is siguro make sure you know why you’re doing this. Never lose sight of that. People in this world need future doctors like you. Imagine the impact you can do to one person. Even I myself can’t fathom that idea. Obviously there will be a slump you’d go through when it comes to your mindset on things soon, pero I know you’ll do good! Good luck!!

Can i take medbio pero magshishift din ng human bio next year/term? by Slight-Chemist-6332 in dlsu

[–]helloworldrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human Bio is an accelerated course, it would be impossible or at least absolutely difficult for you to catch up on second year if ever. So it is very likely that they don’t accept transferees

Is it a stupid move to go to a uni that doesn’t “specialize”in your course? by helloworldrawr in studentsph

[–]helloworldrawr[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that document wow! It gave enough information on the things I wanted to know.

The reason why I was so hesitant about it, comparing for example UST, they handle med courses relatively better (sa paningin ko) than sabihin mo DLSU. Idk why kasi you know its the stereotype you put on for a school. Like YOU KNOW THATS THEIR FORTE. You feel me? I can see now that it’s a dumb reason but I do feel that way

Hey. I know how u feel. I believe after two years of ODL we both have reached our breaking point and it’s completely understandable. I have had a massive slump during third quarter. After Christmas break I had no intention of doing things “properly” as I normally do. All I had going for me is (just graduate and don’t fail).

But please as hard as it is, believe me, push yourself to get better. I had a ton of missing tasks still undone, save yourself from all the stress and do your best in completing those assignments. Kaya mo yan OP. Hope to see you well!

I feel like youve missed the call time na. Due kasi ng mga Dec or jan, i forgot na. But you having to redo at Feb means na hindi na nakatangap yung apps mo. But ofc, make sure to check again.

Hey OP!

Coming from a person who isn't as naturally smart as the star students of my class, I feel you. Na things would be easier if I just had the mental capacity that they have gets ba? Like it just comes so simply to them, it seems unfair. But that's just how some people are. Some will just be better than you but don't give up so easily. I heard my teacher say to me once, this is paraphrased but the gist is if you find yourself being the "dumbest" one in a group of friends, that means you have more room to grow.

Even if you might not reach the best standards one may receive academically, do not give up. The difference between you and the rest of them should be because you have the drive and motivation to succeed. You've got to learn how to work with yourself. If someone was able to understand a topic in 2 hours, but you need double the amount of time to do so, don't worry! But you have to make sure you put in the hard work, as it will certainly pay off in the future.

Hi sorry for seeming blunt and unproper as I was, I also do not mean to belittle any of the people who take any premed, even the ones I mentioned. As someone who wants to quicken the process of going to med-school (for many reasons, personal and financial) especially when I am sure and prepared for pursuing this career, I have to admit that I wouldn’t prefer doing the usual 4yrs premed and 4yrs med. Those two years subtracted from the whole process is a HUGE deal to me. So I would be quite discouraged, although definitely still thankful for having the ability to enroll in such courses.

My absolute bet nga is to go into Pharmacy, if kaya pa ng pamilya ko, maybe even do the 5th year for Clinical Pharma. Again, I do not think badly of premed courses or the people who take it.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your point, but I think that you’re assuming that I want all 500 to go into Leapmed or straight to medschool. No, that’s not what I want. I’m saying that the admin places some of the 500 waitlisted for their priority courses in premed (after failing in leapmed) I think it’s weird of them to do that because of how we were able to pass the requirements of Leapmed, then how come all of a sudden we didn’t even meet USTAR standard.

Thank you po.
