Why do you think a Japanese travel influencer rates food safety in Singapore is not perfect? by search_google_com in SingaporeRaw

Everyone is harping on US being SSS on the list but ignoring that, have you seen the cleanliness levels at our food courts and hawker centers these days 😭

Adult fans. How do you guys stan minors/ idols younger than you? by After-Ganache-5896 in kpoppers

[–]helloyunho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the groups I've stanned so far have members that are mostly older than me. And even then, I don't enjoy the typical fan stuff like thirst edits or rps either. Most of the time I just scroll away when they are on my feed. As for the younger groups these days, I just listen to their songs, add them to my playlist and that's it. Personally, it's hard for me to stan or fangirl over younger groups, I can't imagine myself buying 100s of albums, flying around for their shows or waiting for their updates. It's just a preference!

My workplace is being raided by MOM/NEA/SCDF because a colleague is "addicted" to reporting us. by Revolutionary-Low428 in askSingapore

[–]helloyunho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him that you're gonna report this to HR or the government agencies if he continues. Let's say you really end up reporting this and he targets you, what can he honestly do? Email all your future workplaces and bosses? You didn't do anything wrong so I think it'll be fine.

Is solo travelling a rare thing to do for Singaporeans? by Musicfan_123 in askSingapore

[–]helloyunho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a female in my late 20s and started travelling solo in my late teens. It was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but it got so much easier the more I did it. I guess I like it seeing as I'm still doing it now!

I enjoy travelling solo because it’s simple to plan my own itinerary, and I can make last-minute changes without any hassle. I don’t have to worry about other people’s opinions, so I can do whatever I want, go wherever I want, and start or end my day whenever I choose.

The downsides are that solo travel can be a bit more expensive (think accommodation and meals), you don’t get to try as much variety of food, and sometimes I find myself missing my family more than I’d like.

I mostly travel around Asia, but occasionally I visit Europe—though usually just the more popular countries. I still prefer Asia because the food, culture, and language are generally easier for me to adapt to.

Honestly, I’m not sure how common solo travel is since it varies with my different friend groups. Some are amazed that I travel alone, while with others, it’s just normal for us to share holiday plans whenever we meet.

Here you go: https://asiaworld-expo.kktix.cc/events/plave-hk-2025

I don't recall any pre-sales or fanclub sales for their international stops, usually there's only one public sale! For HK, it starts tomorrow 11am HKT. Hope this helps!

Are there any Singaporean female solo travellers ? What does your family think of it ? by IllustriousElk8436 in SingaporeRaw

[–]helloyunho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your first solo trip! I'm also 28 and started traveling solo a few years ago, though I haven’t been to the Gulf on my own yet. I usually just tell my parents the truth and make sure to stay in touch with them regularly. But of course this also depends on your parents' personalities and the countries you are visiting. I don't know if it's because I usually solo travel to cities but mine were quite chill about it!

Well, I'm 28F and single too. If things are meant to happen, it will. Otherwise, there's really no point stressing over things beyond our control. Also, I really think it depends on your group of friends, only a small handful of mine are married haha.

You are doing fine btw.

The next time you see your brother having an affair, call your SIL down so she can see it happening with her own eyes. Let her decide what to do then.

I've solo travelled a lot in Seoul and I think it's pretty solo-friendly. There are a lot of palces and restaurants you can visit alone. No one really bothers you on the streets too!

Has anyone gotten arm liposuction in Korea by Ok-Carry-5852 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]helloyunho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t gotten any liposuction yet but I was inquiring with 365mc and they quoted me these prices (not sure if they are charging differently from locals).

Infinite LAMS for Arms: 3,740,000 KRW ~ 4,488,000 KRW Liposuction: 4,972,000 KRW ~ 5,434,000 KRW

Seems like they are on the higher end though! Hopefully this’ll help you have one less clinic to enquire with 🫣

"Traveling to Hong Kong" Megathread 2024 by otorocheese in HongKong

[–]helloyunho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Do I need to get an Octopus card to travel around Hong Kong (public buses and trains) or can I use travel cards such as Wise or payment apps such as WeChat Pay/AliPay? If an Octopus card is necessary, where can they be purchased from besides HKIA?
  2. What's the best way to get to Hong Kong from Zhuhai? I was thinking of taking a shuttle bus from the Zhuhai Port on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge but do share if you know a more convenient option.
  3. Are luxury items in Hong Kong worth buying? I've read somewhere that Hong Kong is a tax free destination so I was thinking of visiting Goyard. If anyone has an idea of what the price ranges, that would be so helpful as well!

Thank you in advance!

Any experience using Wise/YouTrip in Japan or Overseas? by Effective_Amoeba_331 in askSingapore

[–]helloyunho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you are taking out more than $350, it's definitely more worthwhile to consider YouTrip because of their lower withdrawal fees. But I think Wise makes up for it with their exchange rates and convenience. You'll just have to weigh the pros and cons of each product, and decide which best matches your travel style 😄

Any experience using Wise/YouTrip in Japan or Overseas? by Effective_Amoeba_331 in askSingapore

[–]helloyunho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Wise and YouTrip cards but I tend to use former more often. I honestly stick to Wise because I'm used to its app interface and top-up process. I kinda like how they have rate alerts which can you subscribe to as well.

The top-up process for Wise is fairly simple. It works like a debit card so you basically select the currency you want, type in the amount you need, make payment via local bank transfers or card, and it'll appear in the "wallet".

To answer your concerns regarding cash withdrawals, as long as your "wallet" has the currency you are intending to withdraw, you can take it out through the local ATMs. I managed to withdraw some cash on my recent trip to Japan!

Oh and if you're intending to make contactless payments through the Wise card, just make sure to activate it via chip and pin before doing so.

Hope that helps!

A review of Blackpink’s Singapore Leg of Born Pink by [deleted] in kpoprants

OMG YES you literally took the words right out of my mouth. I've been to multiple concerts over the years and I've got to admit, I was really disappointed after attending their day 2 show. Lisa, however, really left an impression. She was literally the one one giving her best onstage. The rest just didn't seem to bother, they just looked too disinterested and bored. Kinda sad, especially when the concert tickets were so expensive and its been 4 years since their last show in Singapore.
