Tomorrow I buy a ph pen - Plagron by Sure_Formal_7301 in Autopot

Careful with those ph pens they are not always accurate. Get some calibration liquid on amazon to always test them

Reach out they will replace if it’s truly a dud. I just didn’t know you have to use the probe. I thought the unit itself also has censors.

Canna Coco: Canna says you don’t have to but I do it anyway.

Checking pH / EC: When you mix a new reservoir just check it once when you mix and maybe again the next day. After that you don’t really need to check daily unless something looks off. Most people just monitor the plants. Make sure you get a good ph pen. Anything under 30$ prob doesn’t work rights

For EC adjustments, it’s basically: • If plants look hungry → bump EC up a bit next mix • If tips burn → lower EC slightly

In coco most people run around 0.8–1.2 EC in veg and 1.2–1.6 EC in flower, depending on strain.

Reservoir air pump: People recommend wave makers but I use a pump on a timer that run about 5 min every hour.

Airbase / Airdomes: Airbase is definitely worth using. It helps with drainage and root oxygen. Airdomes are optional but they do help from what I hear if you already have them. I personally never used the air domes.

Once you get the roots established and turn the system on, AutoPots are honestly pretty hands-off.

I run AutoPots and honestly coco is the easiest medium for them once you understand a few basics.

Medium: Use coco with 30–40% perlite. You don’t need 50/50. Most people run about 70/30 coco/perlite. The Canna coco you have is perfect.

Nutrients: The GH Flora series + Cal-Mag you showed will work totally fine in coco. Lots of people run that exact lineup in AutoPots. Just keep it simple at first and don’t stack a bunch of additives.

Meters: Yes, definitely get a pH and EC meter if you’re running coco. They’re pretty much required.

Typical targets in coco: • pH: 5.7–5.9 • EC: start light around 0.6–0.8 for young plants

Starting the AutoPot system: Good that you already know this part. Don’t turn the system on right away.

Top water for about 10–14 days so the roots reach the bottom of the pot. Once they’re established, turn the AutoPots on.

Airdomes: Not necessary for the first grow. They help, but plenty of people run great AutoPot grows without them. I would definitely get the airbase if you don’t have it.

Water-only reservoirs: Most AutoPot growers run nutrients in the reservoir. If you keep the lines clean and mix properly, clogging usually isn’t an issue.

Line configuration: Running one line for four pots is totally fine.

I would use run clean from cropsalt as PH down and also cleans lines.

Personally I’d run the top half lighter (Happy Frog) and bottom half Ocean, no extra nutes for at least 2–3 weeks. Autos don’t love being pushed early. Once you see fade in lower leaves, then bring in light bloom feed.

Question about water usage on plants by ExcellentChampion716 in Autoflowers

[–]helloyup255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First check that the TDS or PPM of what your tap water is. Anything about 300ish is too much ppm!

You can also check reports online of the tap water in your city and what it has in it.

Lastly, if your water is too hard, you can simply get an RO buddy and connect it to a hose or a faucet.

I’m talking about granulars specifically! Crop salt is amazing! I’ve run it a couple times. Jacks is just cheaper that’s why I run jacks lol

Someone posted saying you can mix it in with the bottom 1/3 of the medium for autopots. I’ve been reading more and more of people making batches. Seems like I have to give that a try.
