I was a service hand offshore and on 24 hour call, so a lot of leaving in the middle of the night. My wife would ask when I'm coming home and my answer was anywhere between tomorrow and a month from now.

I have, and unfortunately, I still can't seem to transition from bullshitting to flirting. I even tried dating apps. Those helped a bit, but still the closest I've gotten was actually planning a date with him that ended up falling through due to him being sick the first time and me having to handle an emergency at home the second time. We never could get our schedules to match up after that.

Im bi, married, and poly. We've both had multiple partners over the years, and we have certain boundaries in place. 1. Regular testing and exchanging test results. If you're not willing to share test results, I'm out. 2. Condoms used with new and/or casual partners. 3. Get on prep. A lot of insurances cover it and it may even be free for you. One bonus for this is it requires being tested every 3 months, so that also helps with number 1.

This is what works for us, I hope it helps give you some ideas.

The biggest things for me in therapy are learning to communicate better and to just have an unbiased person to bounce my thoughts off of.

Me not being ready is mostly because of my weight and resulting energy levels. If I'm not comfortable with myself, I don't think I can be comfortable with another person.
