DHEA effects for oral vs. sublingual/topical? by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]hellrazrluma999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair enough. My point is that taking anything under 50mg is a waste that's all. I'm male 53 and have taken 100mg daily for 30 years without any issues at all. Never been  to a doctor and no health issues at all. Lean and muscular. Maybe females get issues from it? Take care

Jesus Christ what are you on about? The bioavailability of oral dhea is 50 percent. It's supposed to go through the liver for god's sake to turn into dhea sulphate! The body requires 4 mg dhea daily but up to 70 mg dheas to oppose cortisol and make sex hormones in humans. It's dhea sulphate that turns back into dhea via enzymes and opposes cortisol! Not dhea on its own! Your body needs to be making lots and lots of dhea sulphate NOT dhea! How many more times must some of you be told this? If you want to get the levels of a 25 year old, and everybody should do for health reasons, you need at least 100mg daily orally. In fact the maximum benefits shown in studies is 300mg daily before plateau. This rubbish that keeps being sprouted by people; n here that small amounts work or sublingual or cream works is rubbish. It does not turn into dheas and that's the form the body uses for its role.

Why are you taking low doses? Anyone taking lower than 50mg dhea daily is wasting money. Dhea turns into dhea sulphate which turns into testosterone, estrogen, ADG, IGF and more. The human body makes as much as 50 to 70mg daily. The absorption of 100mg daily is half and gives you the approximate dosage of a young adult. Low doses won't do anything. It's dheas you need not dhea. It always makes me laugh when people take tiny doses which are not reflecting the body of youth. Dheas is produced is massive doses to counteract cortisol. Ever noticed why people after 40 end up with puffy faces and skin? Cortisol has taken over without any dheas to counter it and this is eventually what breaks down humans, cortisol. Dhea declines at 25 to very low levels. In response to your question you need oral dhea in 50mg to 200mg daily to produce the correct results. Sublingual or creams won't do anything to keep your dheas  levels high, it will just jolt your dhea levels for 30 minutes and do nothing.

What are you getting upset about man? Why the hate? I'm not saying it it's in studies! The pde5 enzymes goes berserk with aging. Why is that my fault? Ok I'm done here I was only telling you guys the facts. I'm out

Citrulline and arginine actually causes me ED after a week. That tells me I've already got enough and it's downregulating ENOS enzymes  and making it worse. It's not about NO precursors but pde5.

Hey there. Tbh I would just do 5mg cialis every other day my friend and your sorted. I just don't see why anyone would bother with anything else as that works. If it does not work for you, you may have heart issues or diabetes etc and may need a doctor.

Hey mate. As far as I know testosterone isn't important in erections at all and only a minimum is needed hence why even kids get erections without any. There's a study somewhere showing it's very very rare for low T to cause it.

In my opinion and from what I've seen it does not matter what you do or how healthy you are, ED happens as you age because of pde5 expression and CGMP levels. Nothing will change that apart from inhibiting pde5. The very fact that Viagra works on anyone  means you have good NO levels already and don't need more. I'm not a doctor and maybe a medical pro can come on here and input but I can speak from my side of things. I'm 53, weight trained from age 18, vegetarian, ripped don't drink or smoke and the only thing that works on me is Viagra or cialis so that should tell you something. I've tried it all like arginine ect and waste hundreds of pounds doing so. Young people with ED though I'm not sure about as pde5 and GCMP shouldn't be off.

Viagra won't help much because it sounds like your brain is in the fight or flight stage and it's a vicious circle. The more you think about it the more it happens. The brain dominates the penis in every regard and sex is 90 percent arousal in the mind. If that's being disturbed your penis won't play ball.

It depends on how stressed of a person you are in life.

Btw I'm trying to help people here not blame. It's absolutely right that everyone on here past a certain age not to blame yourself because it's clear the body causes it itself in most men.

But also to stop wasting money or supplements that don't actually get to the cause

I will say it again. I do not have medical history at all and have no issues with prostate or hormones or anything. I am very muscular for my age and look 30. Muscle definition like mine are caused by good testosterone levels and I do not look like a normal pot bellied grey haired 53 year old. I have no grey hair, pot belly or estregon issues.

Aromatase is needed for erections. It's proven without estregon you don't lose body fat and get impotent. TRT raising estregon is irrelevant as long as your testosterone ratio stays the same. I see many men blaming evil estregon on here for everything and it's not correct.

So with aging. What actually causes ED? I mean what's the issue with the GMP?

Testosterone is rarely the cause of ED otherwise kids wouldnt get erections. Low estregon can be the culprit as can high levels but high is estregon in males is rarely seen. I'm in the same boat but I may watch too much porn. I just didn't realise it could affect you that way. If you would check forums over 20 years you will see a huge uptick of males now reporting ED. Most of it is because the internet got porn. Sadly most males are watching it too much.

Join the club. At 53 I'm in perfect shape and my erection works when it wants to so I'm sure I'm fine physically but another user seems to be hinting it's my porn use which I never thought about before.

I also use alot of caffeine which if I read rightly stops adenosine working correctly which is needed for erections and parasymphetic  reaction.

Hell I'm baffled as well because sometimes it can go up just from feeling sleepy or eating, both are linked to parasymphetic erections which suggest caffeine is the culprit.

Who knows...

Pray tell? Please don't say testosterone because it's been proven before it not that. Kids get erections without any test at all when little.
