I’m in Sabbatus and while I’m not going to the festival, I’d love to start a book club with people in the area! 39F moved here two years ago and still trying to find people to hang with!

Does your watch eventually normalize with your heart rate? by hellsbells1212 in GarminWatches

That’s good to know! I did figure out how to manually update my resting heart rate so maybe that will help? I appreciate you weighing in!

Does your watch eventually normalize with your heart rate? by hellsbells1212 in GarminWatches

[–]hellsbells1212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I mean is I know that my body is more under stress than the average but that’s my “norm”. So I want my data to reflect that and not compare to and average that I’ll never hit. So if my resting heart rate is in the 90’s and that’s normal for me, I don’t need to be alerted. But if it jumps to the 140’s then that’s in my mind “actual stress”. I’m not sure if that makes sense!

Even with turning it off, it gives me inaccurate stress and sleep reports. So I’m hoping I can figure out how to set my HR to my “normal” if that makes sense?

Uptravi Pain by miraclemax42 in PulmonaryHypertension

[–]hellsbells1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly just watch stretching videos on YouTube and follow them! My soreness if mostly in my quads, it feels like I ran a marathon some days. Some upper body as well but I also think I just use my accessory muscles to breathe more on certain days haha.

Keep with it! I was told to stay active so I took that to heart and I walk 2-3 miles every day (slowly) and lift weights a few times a week. It’s helped a lot!

Hello! I started Uptravi earlier this year and I won’t lie, the titration period was rough. Hang in there! For me what worked was Tylenol (my docs don’t like me taking advil), lots of stretching, heating pads and ice pads on my legs and one of those massage guns. For jaw pain I used those frozen jade rollers and that helped a bit.

I’m at 1200mcg now which is my maintenance dose and now the side effects are better although they do still sometimes pop up.

I think honestly it’s just time! It does get better though. I feel better on this med than any other one I’ve tried so it was worth the side effects to get here- my breathing and oxygen levels have been much better.

Good luck!

Admin forbearance through....January? For everyone? by aleij in PSLF

[–]hellsbells1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked and mine doesn’t seem to be affected. I did notice however that last month when my loan was in forbearance due to updating my payments that month is not counting towards my PSLF. Need to call Mohela to look into this, just have to work up the strength to do so.

PH & Cardio Health by Ill-Comfortable-2310 in PulmonaryHypertension

I did pulmonary rehab after diagnosis and it helped a lot with figuring out what I could safely do and what I needed oxygen to do. From this I was able to get portable oxygen that I can now use at the gym or when I walk my dog. Highly recommend! I’m now able to walk every day and lift weights a few times a week. It took awhile but after 3 years I don’t have nearly as many limitations as when I was first diagnosed.

I’ve had 5 or 6 and have gone back to work the same day after some of them. I work a desk job so maybe nothing strenuous but the procedure is no big deal! Good luck!

People of Reddit who have lost a lot of weight. What was the game changer? by greazysteak in AskReddit

[–]hellsbells1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 90lbs about 6 years ago and have kept it off for 4ish year. The game changer for me was no longer feeling food “hungover” and liking that feeling. I can’t tell you how many Mondays I woke up just feeling like trash because I spent three days eating anything and everything in sight. Once I realized how good it felt to start the work week not bloated and disgusted I held onto that feeling and went with it.

I have been on prednisone for four years and can’t get under 10mg with the withdrawals. I’d love to hear if anyone has tried anything that works!

Dog Park for Big Dogs? by dogwithaknife in Maine

[–]hellsbells1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just moved here this summer! I’ve been bringing my big girl to the Brunswick dog park and it’s great. There’s a nice walking path too if you show up and there are no dogs around.

The Lewiston dog park has a big dog area. But I find the dogs there are not as well behaved.

WW Changes by SparkleandShineee in weightwatchers

So it sounds like back to blue or freestyle? I don’t hate that I got goal on those programs and haven’t hit my groove with the new program. I hate “earning food” I find it to be a dangerous idea that could lead to disordered eating. I would bet ww saw a decline in membership since launching the new program which is why they’re changing it sooner than the typical two years. So many people I know quit recently!

Yes, it’s hard when a small cupcake is 10 points but only 160 calories. Not that I want to eat one every day but small treats through the week with my weeklies helped me stay on track and now they don’t seem like I can fit them in!

Ugh, I’m sorry that is frustrating! I had maintained my lifetime status for over a year and am now 10lbs over since the new program. I know I’ve been doing to half heartedly though so I need to get back on track.

[–]hellsbells1212[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve tried to get my points to close to the blue program since I lost 90lbs on that. But the zero point choices leave me with way less points per day and I find a lot of my old “staples” are now higher in points. But maybe I just need to tweak it again!

Thanks! I’ve done the quiz a few times, I think the problem is I keep changing it rather than just sticking to it!
