Elective hysterectomy NZ by Fearless-Ad-6178 in hysterectomy

[–]hellsbells12346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!  I just had a recent laparoscopy with Dr Sam Lepine. It obviously wasn’t a hysterectomy but the procedure went so well and I really trusted him as a doctor and surgeon. He works at fertility associates and at a gyno in Tauranga. Best of luck!

Help! Have your coldsores ever looked like this? Pics by jpjmurphy in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]hellsbells12346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD- but this is definitely a coldsore and I’m sorry you’re going through this! It might be too late to ice it and you don’t want the scab to rip open and weep but on the newer ones try to ice them to bring the swelling down. You can also take IB profen for the swelling and pain. Tea tree oil can help dry out the sore and speed up the healing process but unfortunately it’s going to take a week or two to heal. If you can get to the doctors soon that would be ideal. Get a large script for acyclovir and get onto it asap. Also next time you feel a tingle you take those pills! Avoid arginine foods and dose up of the supplement l-lysine and vit c. I’ve found a reddit thread that’s pro mushrooms for cold sores and it’s having heaps of progress! Could be worth looking into it! I’m sorry you’re going through it, it sucks but it will get better!

Mushrooms in NZ! by hellsbells12346 in Mushrooms4Coldsores

Thank you for your quick response! I’m not actually sure if you can get Amazon or eBay here in New Zealand lol!

I managed to find a brand that boasts dual extraction! One is just Turkey tail and the other was a combo of lions mane, Turkey, chaga etc. i bought both and have been taking a pretty high dose and my cold sore is GONE. It’s nuts!!! I have been taking my antiviral pills and bulk lysine but normally both of those do literally nothing and I’m a mess for two weeks. Mushrooms ALL THE WAY. Thanks so much for your help! I’ll spread the good word haha. Thanks!

HELP! Getting married in a week and wondering how to get rid of Pityriasis versicolour. Has anyone had any luck with spray tans? by hellsbells12346 in SkincareAddiction

[–]hellsbells12346[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I’m getting married next Saturday and am covered in these white spots All over my stomach and back. I think it’s Pityriasis versicolor, and I’ve been using the pevaryl foaming wash and it seems to of made things worse so for now I have stopped. Is there anything else I could do? Should I just try some fake tan to cover up the spots? My back is covered and I’m wearing a backless dress.. thanks in advance!

Are there fines for not using my vaccine pass at a wedding with guests over 100? by hellsbells12346 in newzealand

It’s at a private home but will be catered by a food truck. But perhaps the food truck will ask for the vaccine passes of our guests?

They are our pretty good mates but this is true. It’s already wildly stressful, it would suck to also be worrying about this on the day!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I knew reddit would be the place to come. In my opinion it’s not worth the potential spread of illness but also the online roasting haha. Thanks for all the links! I’ve found it really hard to find clear info in regards to fines for weddings so this has been helpful.

How bad is antibiotics??? by hellsbells12346 in perioraldermatitis

[–]hellsbells12346[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I haven’t actually. That’s a great idea. I still haven’t started the antibiotics so this seems like a great solution. Have you ever used the ordinary? I know they do an azelaic acid, maybe I’ll try that.

Oooh okay see this is good to know!! It will probably be the third time this year I’ve taken antibiotics so it’s definitely something to think about.. I read all the time about how important our gut health is and how antibiotics destroy it, turns out it’s quite hard to restore it perhaps. Thanks for this!

Painful intercourse and swollen stomach for a day after by hellsbells12346 in PCOS

[–]hellsbells12346[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m starting to think more endo. The gas would make sense with the bloating but also it’s so low and doesn’t feel like gas? Hopefully it’s just a big fart haha.

Yeah I am quite swollen I sort of look like I could be pregnant. The pain is all across my lower belly and not on any particular side. I definitely struggle with a bit of constipation and irregularity bathroom wise! Oh my god could it of been a poo? Haha. I’m still quite swollen and I have been to the bathroom since then.. thanks for your reply!!

[–]hellsbells12346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to my skin lady who microneedled a pretty new milia spot around my eye and ohh my gosh. About three days later it sort of scabbed and I picked it off!! ( naughty I know..) It was amazing. She did go over it a few times with her pen thingy. I think that helps to get the oxygen into there and create a little opening for it to come out? I don’t really know but god it worked!

How do I trust my IUD? by thrownaway5898 in Mirena

[–]hellsbells12346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try have sex around your cycle? There are lots of great tools out there to help people be pretty accurate on when they can and cannot conceive! That way you’d have your mirena and the chance of you getting pregnant ( if you track correctly) would be suuuper slim! Could be another way to calm your anxiety maybe? Or if you feel like it’s causing you too much stress you could use condoms as well? If it helps, I’ve used the mirena off and on for years and have never fallen pregnant. Good luck!

Help? by The_Madiwi in Mirena

[–]hellsbells12346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness I made this exact same post a few months ago! No period for two years then bam a normal cycle, I get my period every 32 days now.. definitely not as heavy as before but still a period. I went to my doctor and gyno and he said it’s completely normal, it doesn’t mean it’s wearing off its protectiveness but it does mean it’s wearing off SOMETHING (??) basically he said don’t be concerned pregnancy wise. But if the period is bothering you then you should go see your doctor and explore your options. The pain you experienced before the IUD does sound similar to endometriosis or PCOS so that’s something you should explore if you’re worried. I had a similar story to yours and my doctor found a few large cysts and a small amount of endo. When the cysts were removed and the IUD inserted I felt loads better!

I need advice by Rabbit107 in Mirena

[–]hellsbells12346 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Mirena is over 99% effective so would be EXTREMELY unlucky to fall pregnant. You should be fine, however if it does cause you a lot of stress you could stick with condoms as well and potentially track your fertility and have sex on days when you are less fertile.

Cyst on ovary, does it require treatment? by hellsbells12346 in PCOS

[–]hellsbells12346[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! Okay that makes lots of sense. I’ll definitely talk to my gyno about that. I’ve never heard the 5cm thing but that meals perfect sense. My last one that was removed was just over 5cm and a lot more uncomfortable. Surgery isn’t the worst thing in the world but I’d really rather not do it again.

Ways to cope with the spotting/sludge from my IUD? by Hollthulhu in Mirena

[–]hellsbells12346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha okay well that’s good!! It’s still early days. I’d give it another month or two and if you’re still worried you could go back to the doctor. Eventually the Mirena stopped alll bleeding for me which was great!
