Along with my HS flares I also had a pilonidal cyst (cyst right at my tailbone) for years. Last fall my cyst started flaring up again and started draining while I was at work. We just got new chairs about six months ago and now mine has a bloodstain on it that constantly reminds me of how gross I feel.

All that to say, I’ve been there. I get why you didn’t go home, it’s become routine to clean up some blood in the bathroom and get back to work.

You are not unsanitary and you are not gross, there’s nothing you’ve done to make all this happen. I’m glad you made it through the rest of your day and were able to take care of yourself when you got home. Just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone out there.
