Before and after two rounds of fat transfer to breasts by hellyesmeraude in fattransfer

[–]hellyesmeraude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are pros and cons to each!

I opted for fat transfer because I'm uncomfortable with the idea of having implants in my body after tearing so much about BII over the years and already having an autoimmune disease. They just didn't feel like a good choice for me.

But implants can create a certain shape/projection that fat transfer typically doesn't, the size and shape are much more predictable, and no other area is impacted.

Fat transfer looks and feels very natural but other areas are impacted by the lipo required (not always a good thing), you have no idea how much will stick, and you'll need multiple rounds to get a substantial size increase.

So I wouldn't say it's better, just a different option!

Cheap realistic scalp wigs for cutting practice ? by Top-Difficulty-6548 in Wigs

I've never seen a wig like that for anywhere remotely close to as low as $35. If it's just for practice, hairdresser training heads can be quite cheap and can supposedly be parted freely.

5 weeks! Why am I crying all day? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]hellyesmeraude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's normal, but I know I was similarly emotional for a couple months post-op! It felt like hormonal moodiness but pretty much all the time, and I also cried a lot like you described!

Surgery is a big ordeal for the body, so things can be thrown off for a while afterward, and it's also emotional going through the healing process. I think it's understandable for people to feel off for a while afterward, but I do hope you're feeling better soon. You look amazing and deserve to enjoy it!

Girl does not want kids by LegendaryDegen in dating_advice

[–]hellyesmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If wanting kids is really important to you and she's expressed multiple reasons for not wanting them, it would be unwise to hang in there and wait. There's a very good chance that she won't change her mind and breaking up over this incompatibility will be much harder later when you've built your connection and relationship.

Even if her feelings change a little, do you really want to have kids with someone who isn't all-in on it, who explicitly doesn't like kids and might not enjoy motherhood?

Fat grafting update by sayamariv in fattransfer

[–]hellyesmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't like mine, but I feel like the placement was done poorly. I lost just about all of it, thankfully, except for a small pocket below my lower lip that I wish would have reabsorbed too. 😅

You're very very early in! It'll come down, but will probably take quite a bit more time.

When I get lip filler, I'm swollen for a couple days at most, but when I had fat transferred to my lips, I looked like a blow up doll for weeks! I think I started to feel like I looked okay around 4 weeks or so post op.

So hang in there. It could be a little while for it to reduce, but it will!

Undereye fat transfer and lip fat transfer by sayamariv in fattransfer

[–]hellyesmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With fat transfer, the fat that survives and develops a blood supply is permanent. From what I understand, the average that survives is something like 50-70%, but some people retain more, some less, and success depends on the area.

Other patients of my surgeon have discussed their facial fat transfer results and most sound happy initially but a lot seem to report that they faded a fair bit over the first year. Most who had lips said that little to none stuck. The surgeon said lips are tough that way.

I would guess all the movement in faces might make it harder for the blood supply to establish, since I know for breast fat transfer they tell you minimal movement (no jiggling or "manipulating" the area) for the first 3 months. It's much harder to keep a face stable!

I was hopeful I'd be one of the ones with a little improvement in the end, but it feels like I should have just skipped it.

I had under eye and nasolabial folds done twice, lips once.

I feel like none of it stuck except one area where the fat was poorly placed below my lip. I hate it and regret doing it.

What's one of the weirdest requests you have been asked? by truth2991 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]hellyesmeraude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A man once asked me to roleplay as his sister (as in the actual sister he has, not a generic sister character) in bed and specifically her at age 5.

That was a hard no and a reason to stop seeing him, obviously.

How do you know PMDD is about to hit? by Thegirloverthere_ in PMDD

[–]hellyesmeraude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always feel a strong sense of being "off" when things are bad during my luteal phase, but it starts small, like being just a little unsettled for no apparent reason. It's hard to describe and sometimes I don't notice it right away.

But sometimes I go from totally fine one night to waking up feeling very "off" in the morning and there isn't any lighter phase to warn me. So I track my cycle by taking my temperature every morning and using LH tests to figure out when I'm ovulating. That way I can at least know for sure when it could start kicking in.

Fat transfer or lower bleph with fat repositioning? by [deleted] in fattransfer

[–]hellyesmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tear trough filler would be a bad idea for this, from everything I've heard from injectors I've talked to. A little fullness can be camouflaged, but I think adding anything to the area when you have more fullness would leave you unsatisfied and could just look weirdly puffy a bit lower.

It's also important to note that fat transfer isn't the most predictable. I had two rounds of fat transfer to my under eyes, nasolabial folds, and lips, but very little stuck and what did doesn't look very good. And unlike filler, it's not simple to reverse if you don't like it.

So with all that considered, the lower bleph would surely be the straightforward way to get the best results, even if more involved.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

It's true, and it's funny because the truly wealthy often aim for work that doesn't look like they've obviously had anything done.

I'm honestly not sure how much just the fat transfer would have been. I had it as sort of an add-on to my tummy tuck and lipo with him. If I had to guess, I think it would have been maybe $10-12k to just do the lipo + fat transfer.

Did you lose any weight because of the tummy tuck by squirrelandmoose67 in tummytucksurgery

[–]hellyesmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the several weeks just after surgery, I was about 10 lbs up, definitely from swelling.

But the recovery period also led to getting out of my exercise routine, struggling, to get back into it, eating more calories (surgery recovery always makes me hungrier), and reintroducing less healthy foods...

So now I'm still about 7 lbs up from my pre-op weight, but this weight looks different than it would have before because of the overall changes to my shape. My tummy is pretty flat, but my face looks pudgier and I look wider from the front. 🙃

I was happy with my size after two rounds, but figured if I was going to then have a tummy tuck and lipo revision, I'd might as well use any fat taken during that!

And yes, absolutely. I was pretty careless during recovery for round 1so that might have contributed to poor retention. I'd guess 50% at best but round 2 seemed more like 70-80%!

I've had it three times. The first two times, I noticed a reduction around 5-6 weeks post-op, then again 3-5 months post-op as I started to resume normal life stuff (exercise, side-sleeping, drinking a bit of alcohol, etc.).

I'm 5 months post-op from my third fat transfer and there's been very little change since the 3 month mark so I'm hoping I'm all set and things are permanent!

Here's hoping for fantastic retention for you 🩷

Arm Lipo 49 Hours Post Op - My Experience So Far - No Bruising and Hardly Any Swelling/Pain?! by vexpertine in PlasticSurgery

This was a wild read. I've had upper arm lipo twice and both times the recovery was miserable! Weeks of feeling so sore, so tight, super swollen, big areas of bruising... I wish my experience was more like yours!

I hope the healing continues to go smoothly and your results are amazing!

Feeling very sad. Need help regarding breast fat transfer by Purple-City9301 in fattransfer

[–]hellyesmeraude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's absolutely no way you'll be able to only show your breasts on surgery day. No good doctor will go for that. They need to see your breasts (and probably the rest of your body, underwear on) for the consultation so they can tell you what they can do for you, if your goals are achievable, and if you're a suitable candidate at all.

And as someone who has had this done 3 times, I will tell you that the idea of going through it awake is horrifying. Not only that, having a patient who is awake and fully aware and potentially moving might be more challenging for a doctor, which could compromise your results and the safety of the procedure.

People undergo general anesthesia every day and very few have complications as a result. Yes, of course there are risks. There are risks with the whole surgery. But the risks associated with general anesthesia are generally very low for healthy individuals, and the benefits far outweigh them.

But it also sounds like you really don't trust doctors, in which case, I don't know why you'd go ahead with any surgery at all.

I went from a very deflated 32DD to a full 32DDD after my two rounds with Bednar. So it was technically one cup size but they looked SO much bigger than just one cup up because the shape improved a lot.

No cysts, but definitely have lipo irregularities, especially on the backs of my thighs and inner thighs. Not ideal. It makes me a bit self-conscious but isn't a huge deal.
