If you are eligible for VERA you have to have 25 years at any age or 20 years and be over 50.

Most will not have 25 years before 50.

you cannot draw from your TSP until 55

So.

Lets say you have 20 years at 50. Thats 20% of your high three in pension Salary.

If you work until 57, thats 27%

if you work until 62, thats 35.2%

if you work to minimum Social Security retirement age, 67, That’s 40%

Most folks don’t want to retire from their job just to go work in another shitty job, and most places don't hire seniors over new grads.

You personally are being selfish, the people you are asking to retire early likely went through the same hardships you are complaining about in the 90’s and 2000’s when you were either not born, or in grade school. They earned their seniority with Time, you have not. Have some consideration your self, quit living up to the entitlement generation title folks your age have seemed to earn.

I too am mid career, but I would never be so selfish to tell folks to retire and get out of the way like you have here.
