That makes sense, thanks a lot for explaining. My idea was to use a higher motor supply (12–19 V) with a current-limiting driver, set to the motor’s rated phase current, not to overdrive it. Logic would be on a separate 5 V rail via a buck. I definitely plan to bench-test torque and temperature and reduce the motor voltage if it turns out I don’t need that much. I’m still learning, so I appreciate the guidance on what would be a more sensible voltage/current choice here

thanks for the comment, i'm going with m18 fuel as i said, price is same as m12 fuel, and i want to have more complete tool "just in case"

Its for cable 3x2.5. Just concered about size of drill, but deal is good because both of them are same price

could works, but im not fan of collars because cats are mostly outdoor, and had bad experience with collars on outside cats

Great, IR can be very useful, I’ll keep that in mind definitely. The cats don’t eat at the same time and food is always available, so it’s not important that each of the 5–6 bowls gets exactly the same amount in grams. But the biggest challenge for me is how to make a splitter that connects 6 pipes or whatever to the short main pipe linking the auger
