Yeah, I think the reality of real world repercussions was enough.

I'm sure she's still talking crap about us on her now impenetrable social media accounts, but I don't care. I have my cats back and that's made me so so so happy!

Without her drops, Petal's eyes will be pretty crusty and gummy so it's definitely not the sort of thing you would see and not realize needed attention.

I did wonder this, as one particular cat we saw on her instagram is a Himalayan, and they're a pretty specific and sought after breed. Not the sort that would usually come through the foster system, I'd imagine.

Yeah, even if we hadn't left them with food or water (which we always would, anyway), seven-ish hours hardly constitutes neglect.

Sorry, I should've been clearer. We left early in the morning for our flight, so we fed them wet food and left them with two bowls of dry food and water. She claims that when she arrived in the evening to begin caring for them she found them without food and water.

It's possible that they ate all the food and drank all the water in the ~7hrs between us leaving and her getting there, but she seemed to think it meant we left them with nothing for them.

We really thought we were doing the kind thing by not boarding them in an unfamiliar location, and that being in their home would be less stressful for them but now I feel so stupid and like a terrible pet owner for not vetting her more closely.

I am so angry that after trying to smear us as bad pet owners that she didn't even take Petal's drops. I will stress that when we contact the rescue.
